Pokemon GO Fest 2023 is happening this weekend in New York City. The previous events were in Osaka and London, and players with tickets had the chance to partake in a Special Research story that rewarded them with a special item called a Meteorite, which is required to Mega Evolve Rayquaza.
Players participating in the NYC event can gain access to the New York City Sights Special Research Tasks, with two of the quests giving players two pieces of Meteorite altogether. Those that cannot access the event will have to wait until Pokemon GO Fest 2023 Global, which takes place next weekend on August 26-27.
How to Get Meteorite in Pokemon GO
As mentioned, the only way to get Meteorite this weekend is by completing Steps 3 and 5 in the New York City Sights Research story. The Meteorite can be used on Rayquaza to teach it the Charged Attack called Dragon Ascent.
Down below, trainers can see all the steps for the Special Research, as well as each one's rewards.
