How to Get Honedge in Pokemon GO
In Pokemon GO, Honedge is available for players to obtain for the first time from the Ultra Unlock: Steel and Scales event. This event is taking place between July 22, 2025, and July 27, 2025, as part of the Delightful Days Season. There are multiple ways in which players can obtain Honedge through the event, with the possibility of more ways of obtaining the monster potentially being added in other future events.
The first way in which players can obtain Honedge during the Ultra Unlock: Steel and Scales event is by participating in the GO Battle League. During this time, Honedge will appear in both reward tracks, starting at Rank 6. However, Honedge will appear more frequently on the Premium track. Additionally, Honedge will also be available from GO Battle League Tracks following the event, starting at Rank 16.
Other than that, Honedge will also be available as a 1-Star Raid Boss during the Ultra Unlock: Steel and Scales event. This is one of the most reliable ways to obtain the monster; if players are able to locate one as a Raid Boss, they will be guaranteed an encounter with Honedge after defeating it in the Raid battle.
Can Honedge Be Shiny in Pokemon GO?
Unfortunately, no, as of Honedge's release in the Ultra Unlock: Steel and Scales event, it is not currently available to encounter or obtain in shiny form. Naturally, this also means that its evolutions, Doublade and Aegislash, are also unavailable in the shiny variant. However, there is a possibility that shiny forms for Honedge and its evolution lines will be added further down the line, as this is the case with many previous releases.
