The Pokemon GO Holiday Part 1 Field Research quest comprises only 4 tasks. The Research tasks include catching different types including Ground-type Pokemon, Fire-type Pokemon, and more. Completing one of these tasks might reward you with the recently debuted Shiny Sandygast.

Pokemon GO Holiday Part 1 event has a free Timed Research quest. There are multiple steps on the Timed Research but it segments after completing step 1. You can choose to help either the Spark branch which revolves around Ice-type Pokemon or the Sierra branch which revolves around Fire-type Pokemon. While completing one branch rewards you with an Alolan Vulpix encounter, the other rewards Shadow Vulpix.
