Pokemon GO is getting ready to celebrate the winter holidays in the returning Pokemon GO Holidays event and trainers worldwide will be invited to the festivities. Players can look forward to a wide variety of event rewards, ranging from costumed Pokemon to event-exclusive Field Research to winter-themed avatar items and much more. The Pokemon GO debut of Bergmite will be one especially sweet reward.
Bergmite is an ice-type Pokemon that was introduced in the Gen 6 Pokemon games. This little creature is known as the Ice Chunk Pokemon and looks a bit like a cross between a crab and a chunk of ice. It evolves into the much larger ice-type Avalugg, which seems to have a glacier on its back, at level 37.
The full event period for the Pokemon GO Holidays will last from December 16 to December 31, but Bergmite will appear in Part 2 of the event, which lasts from Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. To Friday, December 31, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. Local time. This icy little friend will be making its grand entrance in the world of Pokemon GO beside its evolution Avalugg. As a gift to fans, players will also receive a free egg incubator by spinning their first PokeStop throughout Part 2 of the event, which may help increase the odds of getting Bergmite.
Players will be able to encounter Bergmite in the wild during Part 2 of the Pokemon GO Holidays event alongside a number of other Pokemon. Some of these other Pokemon are costumed for the occasion, while others are simply winter-themed. Bergmite, Alolan Vulpix, and Cryogonal are all listed as Pokemon that can be encountered by lucky trainers, meaning that one may have to hunt around for them. This isn't the first time a Pokemon was added to Pokemon GO during an event, but it may be one of the most seasonal.
The Season of Heritage storyline will continue through the Pokemon GO Holidays event and a new feature, the Postcard Book, will be added to Pokemon GO. Reportedly, the Postcard Book will allow players to save memories from locations they or their friends have visited by pinning Postcards to the Postcard Book. This feature will be released at the beginning of the Pokemon GO Holidays event and accessible from the item bag or trainer profile.
Pokemon GO is available now on mobile devices.
