Summary

  • Pokemon GO is known for its quirky glitches, like a Mewtwo using a Falinks as a skateboard.
  • Other bizarre bugs in Pokemon GO include a floating human face and a Tyranitar defending a Gym for over 54 years.
  • Recent updates to the game, like controversial avatar changes, have also led to issues like unusually long necks on characters.

A Pokemon GO player has recently discovered a glitch in which a wild Mewtwo “turns into a skater” by seemingly using a Falinks as a skateboard. While bugs are not a constant nuisance in Pokemon GO, most gamers who play for a while have encountered them at least a few times, and this one stands out due to being quite funny.

Pokemon GO was released in 2016, reaching over 232 million players at the peak of its popularity. After many updates, the game still has a sizeable following and is often considered among the best augmented reality walking games. Unfortunately, glitches are still a common part of the players’ experiences.

Pokemon GO May 2024 Community Day Pokemon Officially Confirmed

Niantic officially reveals the Pokemon that will be featured in Pokemon GO's May 2024 Community Day after teasing its appearance one day earlier.

Now, a Pokemon GO player called AshweyMystic discovered a hilarious glitch in the game and shared it on r/Pokemon. While exploring the world, the gamer found a shiny Shadow Mewtwo. This is a rare find in itself, but what was more unusual was that the creature seemed to be “skating” on top of a Falinks. While it’s unknown how this glitch happened, both Pokemon were likely in the same region and a glitch connected their models, giving the impression that Mewtwo was using the Falinks as a skateboard.

Pokemong GO Often Has Weird and Hilarious Bugs

The skater Mewtwo is far from the only funny bug ever encountered by a Pokemon GO player, though. Some time ago, another gamer discovered a giant floating human face in Pokemon GO while they were exploring. This glitch likely happened due to an avatar’s head becoming too big, and while its body could still be there at the time, the enlarged object was so big that it made it impossible for anyone to see it.

Another somewhat funny glitch happened earlier this year. In this case, a player discovered a Tyranitar defending the same Gym for over 54 years in Pokemon GO. Fortunately, this was only a visual glitch, as the Gym’s defense was still working as usual, according to the gamer who found this weird bug.

Unfortunately, even one of the most recent Pokemon GO updates seems to be causing bugs. After the controversial avatar changes, several Pokemon GO players experienced issues such as unusually long necks in their newly changed characters. This was only part of the overall problem, though, as the avatar change was strongly disliked by most of the game’s community, which has accused Pokemon GO’s developer Niantic of making the characters look considerably worse than they were before the update.
