Update 7/11/2019: Niantic has added a lot more Gen 4 Pokemon to Pokemon GO. Here is an updated list of missing Gen 4 Pokemon in the game.

In October 2018, Niantic added the first Gen 4 Pokemon to Pokemon GO. Since then, the company has continued to add new Gen 4 Pokemon in waves, with the latest in February 2019, which added the likes of Cranidos, Combee, Ambipom, and more. While Niantic has come a long way in filling out the Sinnoh region Pokedex, there are still some Gen 4 Pokemon that are missing from the game.

Now that the majority of the Gen 4 Pokemon have been added, it's easier to understand why some have yet to make an appearance. Magnezone, for example, requires a special magnetic field in the core games, and Mime Jr. Is the baby form of Mr. Mime, one of the region-exclusive Pokemon.

Niantic will likely figure out a way to add these Pokemon to the game eventually. For example, perhaps Mime Jr. Will be added if Niantic decides to remove Mr. Mime's status as a region-exclusive, or maybe it will be a region-exclusive baby Pokemon.

Regardless, here is a list of all the missing Gen 4 Pokemon in Pokemon GO as of April 2, 2019, listed by Pokedex number:

Besides the regular Gen 4 Pokemon Pokemon GO fans are still waiting for, there's also some legendary and mythical Pokemon that have yet to be added to the game as well. It's likely that these legendary and mythical Pokemon will be available in raids and future Special Research quests, as we've seen in the past with mythical Pokemon like Mew and Celebi.

  • Uxie
  • Mespirt
  • Azelf
  • Regigigas
  • Phione
  • Manaphy
  • Darkrai
  • Arceus

Niantic has been somewhat slow about adding Gen 4 Pokemon to Pokemon GO, and at the rate it's going, it will likely be quite awhile until they're all added to the game. Considering this, Pokemon GO fans shouldn't hold their breath for generation 5 Pokemon until late 2019 at the earliest, and possibly not even until 2020.

Pokemon GO is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
