Some Pokemon GO players have been delighted to discover that they've been gifted the opportunity to encounter Ultra Beasts in the game. While some Pokemon GO fans may have expected this, others are surprised to discover that they've gained the opportunity.
Pokemon introduced Ultra Beasts nearly a decade ago with Pokemon Sun and Moon. This rare type of Pokemon is available in Pokemon GO now, but earning chances to catch them can be difficult. Unfortunately, one of the best opportunities players have had in recent times to catch some Ultra Beasts was also beset by problems.
This prior issue is what Pokemon GO is now seeking to fix. Pokemon GO players logging in have discovered that they've received multiple instances of Ultra Beast and Necrozma encounters in their accounts. Pokemon GO players who haven't checked yet should look under the Events tab of their Research menu to see if they're available to them. According to Niantic's promise and players' reports, users should receive encounters comparable to the number of raids they participated in during the Pokemon GO Fest 2024 Global.
While fans have been happy to see the promised compensation for the problems that occurred during the fest, they seem to not be the only ones getting the opportunities. Some players have reported having encounters added without ever participating in the event. In either case, players have plenty of time to complete the encounters, with a gracious period of nearly 500 days given to get them done.
What Went Wrong During the Pokemon GO 2024 Fest?
Pokemon GO Fests are always an exciting opportunity to catch powerful and rare Pokemon, but this year's didn't quite go as planned. While not as problematic as some prior Pokemon GO events, players were expecting the chance to earn Ultra Beasts with special backgrounds during the event. While many players were successful in landing some powerful Pokemon, the special backgrounds were notably absent for many during Day 1 of the event. Niantic responded to the complaints shortly after the event, and said it would compensate players with another opportunity, which it has now made good on.
Any Pokemon GO players who participated in the event and didn't receive this opportunity may want to wait a bit. Some players have reported that the encounters have appeared in waves. If they still don't appear, contacting Niantic support may be the best course of action to take, especially since it seems to be overly generous with the opportunities right now.
