Summer is coming closer and closer for Pokemon GO players living on the Northern Hemisphere. For many players it already feels like summer has already arrived with the amount of heat and sunshine. With that, fire-type Pokemon are going to be becoming more common.
One of June's Field Research Tasks in Pokemon GO for this year requires players to catch 3 fire, grass, or ground-type Pokemon. However, some players may not know where to find fire-type Pokemon.
Players may want to catch a fire-type Pokemon soon due to their usefulness in Pokemon GO's recent subject of tier 3 raids, Cryogonal. This pure ice-type has high defenses but has a weakness to fire-types that can be exploited.
There are certain locations where certain types of Pokemon have higher spawn rates. Fire-type Pokemon are no exception to this. There are a few locations where it is confirmed to have higher spawn rates of fire-types and they are:
- Residential Areas
- Cities
- Neighborhoods
- Dry/Arid Climates
- Warm Climates
- Beaches
- Parks
Generally, places that are expected to have higher temperatures are good hunting locations for fire-types. While some players may not expect to find fire-types on beaches, they are most likely there due to beaches being a location that many people travel to on hot days, especially in the summer.
Considering the weather, fire-type Pokemon are also affected by weather boosts like any other type. Fitting with its typing, fire-types have higher spawn rates and give more stardust during sunny/clear weather. This could be a reference to the move Sunny Day which is also known as Clear Sky if the move is directly translated from its Japanese name.
There are also plenty of legendary fire-type Pokemon that players may have or can receive in raids. Thanks to remote raid passes, players can freely participate in these raids from home and even play with friends without the risk of violating social distancing. One of these legendary fire-type Pokemon that players can go after is the legendary dragon, Reshiram. This Pokemon is obtainable through tier 5 raids, but the fight is definitely worth the prize at the end.
Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
