Despite the continuation of the COVID-19 global pandemic, Niantic's mobile game Pokemon GO has largely been able to weather the storm thanks to some timely updates and changes to the experience. While the game pushes players to get out explore, and meet new people, changes to catch radius and bonuses helped players to continue to play and be safe for a time. Although many of these changes have since reverted, Niantic has been able to bring back a popular social event called Pokemon GO Fest.
The previous couple of events were canceled and made purely digital, this year has seen the physical events make a comeback. In fact, for 2022, Niantic has announced three different in-person events throughout the summer. While the first event in July took place in Germany and one still to come in Japan early in August, this weekend brings GO Fest to Seattle, Washington in the United States.
While Niantic is offering plenty to do for those who may not be able to make it to Seattle, including a Global and Collection challenge, players attending the in-person event have unique event-exclusive Special Research to complete which leads to nice bonuses and event exclusive Pokemon to capture. So here are all the challenges that Pokemon GO players can finish along with the rewards earned.
