Despite Pokemon GO Fest 2024 taking place in Japan, Spain, USA, and globally, all the proposals happened in Madrid, Spain, between June 14 and June 16. The proposals were super effective, as each individual who got down on one knee received an ecstatic "yes" from their respective partners. Pokemon GO developer Niantic asked ahead of time if anyone planned to get engaged, as many Trainers had done so at one of Pokemon GO's many big-time events.
Pokemon GO Teases Debut of Paldean Pokemon
As fans await more debuts from the Galar region, Niantic looks all set to add a Generation 9 Pokemon to Pokemon GO as part of its upcoming event.
Five fans reached out to Niantic to confirm their intentions and were subsequently invited to propose at the Pikachu and Eevee Meet and Greet, where the moment could be permanently preserved on camera with two of the franchise's biggest mascots as their witnesses. One couple, Martina and Shaun, spent the majority of their eight-year relationship as long-distance lovers until Shaun decided to move to Barcelona to be with Martina. "It was just the right time," Martina told Eurogamer. "The game has helped us discover new places where we live and wherever we go, and we really enjoy going for Pokemon Go walks (so does our dog). We share a passion for the game and we enjoy being outdoors a lot. It has also connected us to other local players that have now become essential in our lives."
Niantic Invited Couples To Propose At A Pikachu And Eevee Meet And Greet
Many gamers will go to extreme lengths to craft the perfect proposal, and Joris and Louise were no exception. The former hadn't planned to propose so soon, but after stumbling across Niantic's once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, he knew it was the right time. As for Ana and Daniel, the pair met in 2018 and, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Louise discovered she was pregnant with their daughter, who is now three years old. "In the end, Pokemon Go has given me a good boyfriend (hopefully husband!), a three-year-old daughter, many friends in Benidorm and even others around the world," Ana said.
After what turned out to be an extremely eventful Pokemon GO Fest 2024, Trainers can now look ahead to Pokemon GO's upcoming three-part Ultra Unlock event. The Ultra Unlock period will begin on July 17 if 20 Global Challenges were successfully completed during Habitat Hours on July 13. The Ultra Unlock Part 2: Strength of Steel event will begin three days later, offering Trainers the chance to encounter a new Shiny Pokemon. Part 3: Mega Raid Day will be the third and final Ultra Unlock event for Pokemon GO Fest 2024: Global, and players could find themselves fortunate enough to come across a Shiny variant.
On July 21, players can partake in Pokemon GO's monthly Community Day. If Trainers evolve Eelektrik - the evolved form of Tynamo - during the event or up to five hours afterward, they will get their hands on an Eelektross that knows the move Volt Switch. As always, Community Day also offers limited-time bonuses like Lures, Incenses, Catch Candy, and increased spawn frequency.
