Despite its ninth anniversary being on the horizon, Pokemon GO is still being enjoyed by a strong player base to this day. Ahead of the birthday celebrations, Pokemon GO is going all out with GO Fest, Eevee Community Day, and special global challenges, with some of the rewards on offer being truly impressive. Ancients Recovered's Timed Research offered encounters for all the Regis and Galarian Legendary Birds, for example, and there are bound to be even bigger surprises in the coming weeks leading up to the anniversary.
Players can find all the information they need on the events page found on the right of the game's map, but as accessible as this is compared to having to open the Pokeball and find the "events" tab on the top right, Pokemon GO should look into updating the UI even further. Sure, the page works well for keeping track of seasonal events, but now that the app is celebrating so much at once, it looks rather overwhelming - something that happens anytime there are more than two or three events running all at once.

How Pokemon GO's Event Page is Both Useful and Confusing All at Once

When fans open up Pokemon GO's event page, they're greeted with the Ancients Recovered GO Pass and its basic and deluxe rewards. From there, the Global Challenge, June's regular GO pass, and Timed Research for Ancients Recovered follows. These events offer great variety for those playing during the GO Fest season, but everything after the Global Challenge has a huge checklist, and the Global Challenge itself can't be collapsed.
It's a great thing that Pokemon GO players can reap the rewards from so many events, but on the other hand, there's literally so much to do that it's clear as day the events page wasn't built to handle multiple big events like this. Some players may enjoy having two battle pass progression systems to go through, other players might find it troubling to scroll past while trying to get to other events. A few fans might even find themselves both enjoying the events but hating their long checklists. After all, Pokemon GO events don't last very long, only a few days at most. This means players are likely double-checking the requirements for rewards they want regularly, losing more time to navigating all the rewards and tasks than they'd like.
Pokemon GO's Event Page Could Be Easily Fixed
The event page may be rather long, but luckily, it's likely just a minor inconvenience to most players, and it's also a problem that would only require minor fixes from the Pokemon GO team to improve. Currently, the events page shares space with daily stamps and Special Research. Moving those pages elsewhere and splitting up the events with their own tabs could be helpful. Alternatively, giving players a way to mark or sort the challenges they're actively participating in might save time spent scrolling.
Arguably, there might not be much of a point to changing the event page since Pokemon GO doesn't hold this many events frequently enough to justify it. The event page usually keeps players updated on events dealing with the current season like Delightful Days or Max Out. Due to the way GO Fest and the ninth anniversary are so close together, Pokemon GO has a reason to go above and beyond with more events and rewards than normal. These changes could be made only for them to feel unnecessary once the special occasions end and players have one or two events at a time again. However, with even bigger festivities possible for the tenth anniversary, changes to the events page could be useful down the road, too.
It's a great thing that all sorts of Pokemon GO players can reap the rewards they want with so much to do, but on the other hand, there's literally so much to do that it's clear as day that the events page wasn't built for events like this.
