Pokemon GO has announced the debut of Dynamax Drilbur in a new event that will run from November 15-17. On September 3, Pokemon GO started Season 16 and ended a long wait for players by finally adding the Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon to the game.

The Dynamax forms, specifically, debuted with the addition of a new Special Research, which rewarded players with Wooloo and Skwovet encounters in the new raids called Max Battles. A few days later, Niantic added the Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle Dynamax variants via the GO Big event, with Dynamax Beldum and its evolutions becoming available in the Psychic Spectacular event. The Dynamax forms of Scorbunny, Grookey, Sobble, and Falinks debuted in October, with Dynamax Gastly and its evolutions taking the spotlight in the Halloween event.

Now, another critter is on its way to the game, as Pokemon GO has announced the debut of Dynamax Drilbur in the Simply Groundbreaking event, which runs from October 15 at 10 am until October 17 at 8 pm local time. During the event, the Ground-type will appear in one-star Max Battles, with trainers having the chance to encounter it in shiny form. Like the pocket monsters previously added to the game, those who catch Drilbur in Max Battles will be able to Dynamax the Pokemon and its evolution, the Ground/Steel-type Excadrill, during Max Battles.

The Simply Groundbreaking event will increase the spawning in the wild of 11 Pokemon, such as Jigglypuff, Alolan Digglet, and Kricketot, with trainers being able to find their shiny counterparts. New Field Research tasks will be released, rewarding with Drilbur encounters, Drilbur Candy, and Drilbur Candy XL, the latter two items necessary for Pokemon GO players to evolve the monster into Excadrill. In addition, trainers level 31 and up will be twice as likely to receive Candy XL when catching Pokemon.

The calendar for the last month of the Max Out Season looks promising for players of Niantic's game. In addition to the debut of Dynamax Drilbur, the Harvest Festival will begin on November 7 and will add Shiny Smoliv to Pokemon GO. Community Day featuring Mankey will be held on November 10, while the Pokemon GO Wild Area: Fukuoka and Global events will take place from November 23-24. These events will see the debut of Toxtricity in different forms, including Dynamax and Gigantamax. The end-of-season event will begin on November 27 and end on December 1, although details are currently unknown.
