The Detective Pikachu Returns Timed Research is an event-exclusive free-to-play quest. Pokemon GO players do not need a ticket to access the Timed Research, but one needs to complete all tasks and claim rewards before Monday, October 9, 2023, at 8 PM local time. The event-exclusive Timed Research comprises two steps. Step One has fixed tasks and rewards, but players must choose one of three options for Step Two.

One must correctly identify the Pokemon the Professor is describing, and those who fail to solve the puzzle won’t be eligible to receive all rewards. The three options to choose from are Snivy, Rowlet, or Sudowoodo. The correct answer is Sudowoodo, so players should be sure to select it. If they choose incorrectly, the Step Two reward will change from Sudowoodo Encounter to 25 Pokemon GO XP.
