Pokemon GO has confirmed that Machop will star in the next Community Day Classic, scheduled for May 24, 2025. Quite a few of Pokemon GO's upcoming events are heavily focused on Fighting-type Pokemon as the Might and Mastery season continues.
Since their introduction in 2022, Pokemon GO's Community Day Classic events have given players a second chance to catch fan-favorite Pokemon previously featured in past Community Days. There have been two Community Day Classic editions in 2025 so far, with Ralts starring in the event in January and Totodile in March. Now, Pokemon GO is bringing back one of the strongest Gen 1 Pokemon for the last Community Day Classic of the season.
Pokemon GO Player Gets Super Rare Pokemon from Friend That Stopped Playing
A Pokemon GO player reveals they received a super rare Pokemon as a gift from a friend who stopped playing the AR mobile game.
The Kanto Fighting-type Pokemon Machop will be the protagonist of Pokemon GO's next Community Day Classic. The event will take place on Saturday, May 24, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. During this period, Machop will spawn more frequently in the wild, giving players a better chance at encountering a shiny one. Players can also earn three times the usual amount of Stardust from catching Pokemon. Additionally, fans who evolve their Machoke between May 24 and 31 can get a Machamp that knows the Charged Attack Payback, a Dark-type move that deals 110 damage in Trainer Battles, and 95 in Gyms and Raids. It is worth noting that Gigantamax Machamp is debuting in Pokemon GO on May 25, so Machop's Community Day Classic could come in handy for players who wish to stock up on Candy.

Similar to previous events of the same kind, the week after Machop's Community Day Classic will feature exclusive Timed Research that grants an encounter with a Machop that has a Might and Mastery-themed background. Moreover, Machop-themed Field Research will be available with Stardust, Great Balls, and encounters with Machop as rewards. Players can also purchase a $2 Machop Community Day Special Research for more items, including a Premium Battle Pass, Candy XL, and more. Finally, players can participate in PokeStop Showcases featuring Machop for additional rewards.
Pokemon GO's Might and Mastery season will come to an end on June 3, and the upcoming weeks are packed with Fighting-type-themed events. Aside from Machop's Community Day Classic and Gigantamax Machamp's release, Pokemon GO is adding Dynamax Urshifu on May 21 for its upcoming GO Battle Week. Pawmo's first Community Day is also set for May 11, and fans can get a Pawmot that knows Brick Break.
