A Pokemon GO player didn't have to go far to find a shiny in the game, as they literally stepped out their home's front door to find the surprise. While some Pokemon GO fans are still trying to find a shiny of their own, some players seemingly get all the luck.
Hunting shinies in any Pokemon game is a big deal for some players, and the mobile take by Niantic isn't any different in that regard. Shinies in Pokemon GO may be arguably even more popular among fans, as players can easily show off their catches while defending Pokemon Gyms with shinies. Some players have even gone so far as to collaborate with other trainers to set up completely shiny teams to defend their Pokemon GO team's Gyms.
While some players grind endlessly to find a shiny, there are times when simple luck kicks in and a player ends up finding one in plain sight. Pokemon GO player Stealth9er revealed a shiny Rhyhorn that they've just added to their roster which they found in their own driveway. The fan is apparently grateful for having been a bit forgetful, as they stepped outside to get the mail after having previously forgotten to. The Pokemon GO app or Pokemon GO Plus+ device was evidently running during this time, as they discovered a shiny Rhyhorn and successfully captured it.
This particular Rhyhorn has a CP of 527, so whether it will actually be useful in a battle remains to be seen. However, just catching a shiny is often enough for some players. The odds in any Pokemon game of finding a shiny aren't particularly good, so it's always fun to successfully land one. Other players in the comments seemed pleased by the find, with others talking about liking shinies found at home in particular.

Finding shinies in Pokemon GO on the world map can be a difficult task. However, there are some easier ways to find shinies for those who aren't lucky enough to find one in their own front yards. Limited Research events and Special Research quests sometimes reward players with a chance at a shiny Pokemon. While this make the shinies less rare as other players will be undoubtedly adding them to their teams as well, it's nonetheless a great chance, especially if the player is trying to work towards finding a shiny for every Pokemon in Pokemon GO.
