Niantic is celebrating the launch of the new Pokemon GO Plus+ device (and the upcoming release of Pokemon Sleep) with an exciting event that can reward trainers with a special Nightcap-wearing Snorlax. The event comes to an end at 8 pm local time on July 16, 2023, and until then, players will see several Pokemon with increased spawns, and one of those Pokemon happens to be the sheep Pokemon, Wooloo.
Wooloo was first introduced in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, the eighth generation of mainline Pokemon. The Pokemon is Normal-type and can evolve into Dubwool at level 24; however, in Pokemon GO, evolving Wooloo is done a bit differently.
Can Wooloo Be Shiny in Pokemon GO?
To get right to it: yes, Wooloo has a shiny version available in the mainline Pokemon games, but in Pokemon GO, there is no shiny version (yet). The picture above shows the shiny version of Wooloo in the Switch titles, sporting darker wool and a lighter face.
Niantic tends to take its time with launching shiny variants of the beloved Pocket Monsters, so there could be a chance Shiny Wooloo will come out eventually, but we have no timeframe for when that will happen.
How to Evolve Wooloo in Pokemon GO
Once players get their hands on a Wooloo in Pokemon GO, they can evolve it into Dubwool by paying up 50 Wooloo Candies. To get more Wooloo Candy, try using Pinap Berries during encounters. Trainers can also set Wooloo as their Buddy Pokemon and walk with it to earn even more Candy.
To actually evolve Wooloo in-game, click on the Poke Ball icon on the main map screen. Click on Pokemon and then search for Wooloo. If players have 50 Candy, press the Evolve button to transform Wooloo into Dubwool permanently.
If players are having trouble finding Wooloo during the event, they should try and use one of their Incense or place a Lure Module at a Gym or PokeStop. Make sure to also click on the icon below the binoculars at the home menu to take advantage of the Nearby feature. If there's a Wooloo nearby, it'll show up here, and players can track its location down.
