Other times still, Pokemon GO features Timed Research. Pokemon GO Timed Research is exactly as it sounds - it's a set of objectives that players have to complete within a certain time limit. With the Pokemon Horizons anime series primarily inspired by Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it makes sense for the rewards to be themed after Generation 9 Pokemon. By completing these tasks, Pokemon GO players will be able to catch all the Gen 9 starters, plus a special Pikachu variant based on the version of the Pokemon seen in the show.

Pokemon GO is now owned by Scopely, but it seems that the game is going to stick with business as usual for now. It will be interesting to see if special quests like this ramp up in frequency or are scaled back moving forward. Regardless, Pokemon GO players can redeem the latest code and start completing the new Bonus Timed Research while it's still in the game.
