Pokemon GO trainers around the world had a chance to get in a full day of PvP action this past weekend thanks to the celebration of GO Battle Day: Marill around the world. Unfortunately, some regions experienced some serious problems throughout the Sunday event.

The PvP-themed event offered players some exciting bonuses and rewards through the Go Battle League and Pokemon GO trainers had the chance to take advantage of the new play until you win feature to get in aa ton of matches Sunday, even if they were on a cold streak. Unfortunately, players in the EMEA region didn't get to enjoy the event the way it was intended. But not to worry, Niantic is already scheduling a makeup date to give those trainers another shot.

Pokemon GO players in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions experienced server errors yesterday that cut off all but the last hour of Go Battle Day bonuses and features. That wasn't the only problem either. The server issues meant that players who could get into matches experienced bugs that impacted performance, encounter rewards, and the Stardust bonus which made it impossible to climb the Go Battle leaderboard. Vocal complaints from around the world brought the attention to Niantic Support and the team promised that a make-up event is on the way.

All things considered, it's pretty impressive that this is the first play-from-home event that Pokemon GO hit a major speed bump with. Most of the late March and early April events have gone incredibly well and done a good job keeping players engaged in the mobile AR game. Hopefully this is an isolated incident and other upcoming events don't run into similar problems.

For now, players may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
