The next generation of Pokemon games may not feature as many tutorial segments as Pokemon Legends: Z-A, according to leaks concerning Gen 10 on social media. The leaks claim that Pokemon Gen 10 will turn players loose after they gain access to sea travel, though tutorials are still expected within the first area.
Although Pokemon Legends: Z-A has been praised for its innovative take on Pokemon battles and strategy, the latest title in the Pokemon franchise has run into some stumbling blocks along the way. Pokemon Legends: Z-A has been review-bombed with both legitimate gripes and more suspicious scores of 0 and 1. Among the key complaints with Pokemon Legends: Z-A are the graphical quality of both the Switch and Switch 2 versions, with Lumiose City's textures being a sticking point. Additionally, the game's long tutorial window prohibits players from accessing certain features or fully exploring the city until certain main story missions are completed.

Pokemon Gen 10 May Not Be As Tutorial-Focused As Legends: Z-A
While rumored information about Pokemon's next generation must be taken with a fine grain of salt, one potential aspect may already be a hit with fans. As reported by Centro on Twitter, Pokemon Gen 10 will address the tutorial complaints about Legends: Z-A, according to leaked documents that were posted throughout mid-October on social media. Centro states that Pokemon Gen 10 will focus less on tutorials once players gain access to a Pokemon that can cross the seas. This should allow trainers to freely explore other islands in the as-yet-unnamed island archipelago region that Pokemon Gen 10 may take place in. However, tutorials are still expected in Pokemon Gen 10's first area, as Centro reminded fans that the new mainline generations tend to focus on children compared to the older crowd that Legends: Z-A draws.
The rumored leak also claimed that Pokemon Gen 10 would allow players, in theory, to go straight to the final boss. This would not be the first time a mainline Nintendo title has given players such freedom, as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild allows players to speedrun their way straight to battling Calamity Ganon within the first 15 to 20 minutes of gameplay.
In response to Centro's tweets, Pokemon fans stated that fewer tutorials in Gen 10 would be a noticeable improvement from Legends: Z-A. Although other pieces of leaked Pokemon Gen 10 information have made the rounds, time will tell what The Pokemon Company's plans are for the franchise's future.
