Pokemon Fusion Fan Art Combines Scizor and Mimikyu
A talented Pokemon fan devises an incredible new design by combining the Bug/Steel-type Scizor with the Ghost/Fairy-type Mimikyu.
Now, a prominent leaker named Centro Leaks has revealed a document detailing a timeline for the first five generations of Pokemon games. According to the leak, Gen 1 (Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow) and 3 (Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald) happen simultaneously during the “original year.” The Gen 2 Pokemon games (Gold, Silver, and Crystal) are set three years after that, and the Gen 4 entries (Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum) are set “soon after” the Johto-based games. Finally, Gen 5 Pokemon games (Black and White) occur 10 years after Gen 2 and 4, and therefore, 13 years after the original games.
Unofficial Timeline of Pokemon Generations
- Gen 1 and 3: set during the "original year"
- Gen 2: three years later
- Gen 4: "a little" later than Gen 2
- Gen 5: ten years later than Gen 2
- Gen 7: four years later than Gen 5
According to The Gamer, the leak also makes it possible to calculate the date of the Gen 7 titles (Pokemon Sun and Moon), as the Pokemon Gen 1 protagonist Red appears in these games and is said to be 27 at the time. Therefore, Gen 7 would be set four years after Gen 5. Unfortunately, it’s still unknown when Gen 6 (Pokemon X and Y) is set. It’s also important to understand that this is not officially announced information, and the reason why Game Freak never unveiled it may be because the developers ditched the timeline. This is not the only interesting information that surfaced after the leak, as a few weeks ago, Centro Leaks also revealed that Gen 10 Pokemon games could be set on an archipelago with many unique islands.
Another interesting discovery made by fans following the leak was that a mobile Pokemon party game was canceled by Nintendo. According to leakers, the game was being deemed “Project Swallow" and was described as being similar to WarioWare. While it’s currently possible to see a few mini-games that would have been included in the title, it’s unknown why Project Swallow was canceled. Another project called Synapse Pokemon is said to still be in development and is described as a Pokemon multiplayer game with elements similar to the popular Splatoon series.
