A Pokemon fan has created a piece of art that fuses the designs of Scizor and Porygon with incredibly cool results that would not be out of place in any of the games. With many works of Pokemon fusion art creating fascinating results, it's always exciting to see what fans come up with next as far as what gets fused and how it comes out.
Although Porygon is not featured in the roster for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it and Scizor are long-standing parts of the series, with the latter being a Bug/Steel type while the former is classified as a Normal type despite being made out of artificial code. One fan had even drawn Paradox forms for Porygon, showing potential for how it could have fit in with Paldea's Pokedex.
Another creative Pokemon fan going by rc1246 on Reddit decided to tackle another concept featuring Porygon, drawing what a fusion of it and Scizor would look like and uploading their creation on the game's subreddit. The result is an impressive mixture of Scizor's bug-like features with Porygon's color scheme used to create a more metallic texture. With gaps between each of the limbs like Porygon Z, the fusion sells the concept of a Pokemon that looks both fantastical and mechanical. Rc1246 does not give their creation a specific name, leaving a couple of users to call it either "Scygor" or "Scizorygon."
This combination is not the first work of fusion art rc1246 has worked on, having created the somewhat more chilling combination of Mimikyu and Togepi with positive results. Responses to this latest creation have also been met with praise, with one responder saying it was the best merge they had ever seen. Another compared it favorably to Rayman, the titular protagonist of a series where its lead also has gaps in between where limbs should be. The top comment however suggested that evolution combos should be a feature added to future Pokemon games, which rc1246 agreed with.
Though Porygon is not currently in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, works like rc1246's fusion art show the virtual Pokemon still has love in the community. Since there is potential that Scarlet and Violet will receive more updates or even DLC throughout 2023, it leaves room open for more legacy Pokemon to be included. However it occurs, it would be nice to see Porygon included so it and Scizor can both be included in Pokemon players' rosters at the same time.
