- Fans enjoy slice-of-life Pokemon moments.
A Pokemon fan has shared an adorable and funny animation featuring Vaporeon. The Pokemon video shows what a normal day in life might be like if a Vaporeon were living in a person's home, and recreates a funny moment that many cat owners have seen personally.
Eevee and its branching evolutions take their characteristics from a number of real-world species, including dogs, cats, foxes, and even rabbits. Eevee's evolutions may resemble one species more than others, like Espeon looking a lot like a cat, while Jolteon has more dog characteristics.
Pokemon Fan Shares Unique Ground-Type Eeveelution
A Pokemon fan invents and designs a unique evolution for Eevee, giving the Pokemon a Ground-type form that would be found in a particular area.
Now, an animator going by Spy_rook on Reddit has shared an adorable animation they made featuring Vaporeon and Eevee. The short video shows Vaporeon perched over a sink, with the faucet actively running, while it tries to drink the fresh water. However, Vaporeon is going about it a bit awkwardly, with its head getting soaked with water by sticking its face directly under the faucet. Meanwhile, Eevee can be seen in the corner, hopping up repeatedly in an effort to try and play with Vaporeon's tail, who seems largely oblivious to it until Eevee goes crashing down to the floor.
Vaporeon Fans Love Cute and Funny Fan Animation
Numerous fans of Vaporeon and the Eevee family have shared their thoughts with the animator, telling them how impressed they are with the creation. A number of viewers have called it cute and funny, while others have mused about how cat-like this behavior is for Vaporeon. Videos of cats trying to drink from faucets but getting their heads soaked in the process are pretty common, so it's funny to see a Pokemon exhibiting the same behavior. Others pointed out that since Vaporeon's ability is Water Absorb, it may very well be consuming more water doing this than one might initially expect.
Some fans expressed curiosity about how the animation was made. Spy_rook responded, explaining that they made the paint-like textures in Clip Studio Paint, while the animation itself was made in free 3D animation software Blender.
While the vast majority of Pokemon games have always focused on battling, it's clear that a lot of fans would love to see more slice-of-life moments from the series. That want is probably part of what helped to propel Pokemon Concierge, the Netflix series, and ultimately led to a second season being announced. While it remains to be seen if the Pokemon franchise will release more cozy shows or animations like these, fans like Spy_rook are helping to show what it would be like to live with Pokemon as a part of normal life.
