A Pokemon fan has shared their idea of what a new regional form for Yamask could look like. The change to Yamask's design gives a hint as to what its past life was like, and Pokemon fans seem to like the creation.

There are a number of regional forms for Pokemon in the official series, but fans have come up with far more designs than the official games have. Fan-made regional variants are quite popular, and give players an opportunity to imagine alternate concepts while still retaining many of the characteristics that made the Pokemon a favorite to begin with.

Now, a Pokemon fan called joedpunk has shared their idea of what a new regional form for Yamask could look like. While Yamask already has a Galarian regional variant, this fan regional variant takes a different turn, swapping Yamask's standard mask or ancient tablet for a knight's helmet. While the overall shape, design, and typing of the Pokemon remains primarily the same, this Yamask has a more sorrowful expression, with its purple eyes tearing up as though it's about to cry. The fan also included a Shiny variant, which sticks to a color scheme closer to that of Shiny Galarian Yamask, with their helmet taking on a darker tinge.

New Yamask Regional Variant Has Unique Qualities

The artist has shared a Pokedex entry for this version, which they've dubbed Yamask's Fallen Knight variant. Calling it the "Spirit of the Keep" Pokemon, this version of Yamask is typically found in abandoned castles. Like standard Yamask, this Pokemon used to be a human, but instead of carrying a mask that resembles how they used to look, they instead carry a knight's helmet that used to belong to them. Despite now being a Pokemon, this Yamask sticks to its original chivalric code, which grants it the special skill Vigil of Valor. This skill gives the Pokemon a defense boost when protecting allied Pokemon, or when it's hit by an attack that would ordinarily be super-effective against it.

Pokemon fans have been intrigued by this variant of Yamask, and the artist plans to share the variant form that it will evolve into, as well. Fans also suggested that it would be fun to have a unique form of Yamask in every region that Pokemon games have been set in. One said that this would have been an even more perfect version for Galar, given its Great Britain roots, but also thought it could work for the Kalos region.
