Many fans were both impressed and confused as to how the player achieved this since legendaries in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are usually unable to be shiny .
An Elusive Shiny Rayquaza in Scarlet and Violet Surprises Fans
Fortunately for the fans, the user explained that they caught the Rayquaza in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, in which legendaries are able to spawn in shiny form after resetting the game 207 times. From there, they simply transferred it to Scarlet and Violet to add to their collection of shiny legendary Pokemon, which also includes Mewtwo, Arceus, and Palkia.
However, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are not the only Pokemon games on the Nintendo Switch in which shiny legendaries like Rayquaza are available, as the user mentioned players can also find them in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Specifically, players who own the Dynamax Adventures DLC for Sword and Shield can hunt for shiny legendary Pokemon using the Shiny Charm, which is unlocked after finishing the Pokedex and increases the chances for shiny Pokemon to spawn.
