A Pokemon fan has designed several regional forms inspired by Norse mythology, with impressive results. Norse mythology is often a source of inspiration for creators, including the Pokemon community. Fans have regularly used Norse characters and stories to create impressive fan art and share the results online.

This was the case with an inventive Pokemon fan who created a regional variant for Snorlax based on Thor. The beloved pocket monster from Kanto was turned into Thorax, an Electric/Fighting-type monster with a large beard, strong arms, and carrying a hammer referencing the Mjolnir. A second fan created regional forms for Machop and its evolutions, giving them a Viking makeover, and the Nosepass evolutionary line, transforming them into gnomes. This time, another member of the Pokemon community used Norse mythology as inspiration, producing remarkable artwork.

On the Pokemon subreddit, user Lyndorr shared regional forms based on Norse mythology for Tinkaton, Shuckle, Lycanroc, and 31 other Pokemon. The first batch of fan art depicts Shadow Rider Calyrex as Odin and Sleipnir, while the Applin evolutionary line appears as Idunn's apples, Yggdrasil, and Nidhugg. Rockruff and Lycanroc received regional forms inspired by the wolves Skoll, Hati, and Fenrir. Ralts and its forms were turned into Valkyries, and Shuckle, one of the Pokemon with no evolvution, gained a form inspired by the World Serpent Jormungandr.

Creative Pokemon Fan Uses Norse Mythology to Create Amazing Regional Forms

The evolutionary line of Tinkaton, one of the most popular Gen 9 Pokemon, was transformed into an adorable version of Thor, with the hammer becoming Mjolnir. A Viking shield was the basis for the new forms of Bronzor, while Lapras' new form is based on the iconic Norse ship. Machop, Machoke, and Machamp gained the design of the Draugr, an undead creature from Norse mythology that guards tombs and treasures. Zorua and Zoroark received a makeover inspired by Marvel's version of Loki, while Sverd I Fjell, a monument in Norway, served as the basis for Honedge's regional form.

The designs created by Lyndorr stand out for their attention to detail and clever use of references, showcasing the well-known creativity of fans in designing new forms for Pokemon. Users of the Pokemon subreddit reacted to the post with over 8,000 upvotes and more than 500 comments, most of them praising the OP's work. Several fans pointed out the regional Shuckle as one of their favorites, while other comments praised the new versions of Lapras, Tinkaton, and Machop.
