A talented artist created large Pokemon Game Boy cartridges using a 3D printer. Many longtime fans' first exposure to Pokemon was playing it on their Game Boy handhelds, where the first set of games was originally released.

The very first Pokemon games for the Game Boy were 1998's Pokemon Red and Blue. The last mainline game from the Game Boy era was 2005's Pokemon Emerald on the Game Boy Advance. The games have gone a long way since then with titles like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet on the Nintendo Switch, which have enhanced graphics and more immersive open-world gameplay.

French artist entroisdimensions, who's known for making 3D-printed Pokemon, fueled Pokemon fans' nostalgia by 3D printing large Game Boy Color cartridges featuring Pikachu and Venusaur. In two Instagram Reels, he showed the satisfying process of creating both cartridges, with half of Pikachu and Venusaur's bodies emerging from their respective cartridges. The Venusaur one also looked similar to the Japan-exclusive Pokemon Green Game Boy Color cartridge.

Many Pokemon fans were impressed by the artist's 3D creations, saying that they're must-haves for every gaming room. Some fans also requested him to make Game Boy cartridges featuring other Pokemon. In the past, entroisdimensions has 3D-printed various Pokemon models, from miniature evolution lines to a fully functioning Pikachu phone charger. He's also experimented with combining Pokemon, like a half Gengar and half Clefable statue that showed the perfect color combo of purple and pink.

With over 1,000 Pokemon across nine generations, the prominent franchise has inspired many of its dedicated fans to create art based on their favorites. Apart from entroisdimensions, there have been several 3D models, like sculptures of the Legendary Birds and a battle diorama featuring Gengar and Nidorino, among others. Some have experimented on different mediums, such as stained-glass paintings and terrarium building, to showcase their creativity and reimagine Pokemon as different characters.

For decades, Pokemon has done a great job of engaging its fanbase with uniquely designed Pokemon with diverse skill sets, as well as compelling Pokemon Trainers and Gym Leaders. But despite already reaching Gen 9, many players are still quite fond of the very first Pokemon generation, mostly because they grew up playing them on handhelds like the Game Boy. Fortunately, artists like entroisdimensions can help bring back that sense of nostalgia through their art.
