A creative Pokemon fan is quickly racking up thousands of likes for their impressive magnetic display of the Pokemon TCG cards for Eevee and all of its various evolutions. The custom-made creation has sparked quite the reaction from the online Pokemon fan community, showing the enduring popularity of the classic character and all the forms it can take.
Introduced as part of the very first generation of Pokemon, Eevee is a Normal-type known specifically for being able to evolve into one of eight evolutions with distinct typing, colloquially known as "Eeveelutions": Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, and Glaceon. In addition to favorites like Pikachu and Charizard, Eevee (and its evolutions) are widely considered some of the most popular Pokemon with Pokemon fans, including star NFL running back Jamaal Williams recently explaining what Eevee is to reporters during a press conference.
The impressive magnetic card display has been created by Reddit user ElderFoundry, who posted a video of their creation to one of the site's main Pokemon forums. The video contains clips showing the project at various stages, starting with putting each of the Pokemon TCG cards into a plastic sleeve, and then fastened into an acrylic frame with magnets. A frame is then filled in with color-coordinated Poke Ball pieces, with Eevee in the center surrounded by its various evolutions. Finally, the encased cards are snapped into their designated spots, and the completed display is mounted on a wall.
The impressive custom card display has clearly impressed many a Pokemon fan, with the post already over 6,000 upvotes at the time of writing. Comments are well into the triple digits as well, with many of them asking what materials were used to create it and how they can get one for themselves. ElderFoundry has responded, with multiple comments saying he is working on making them available for purchase on his own website. This isn't the first magnetic card display the Pokemon fan has made, previously making a similar frame for Magic The Gathering cards.
Although it is currently unclear exactly when Pokemon fans will be able to get their hands on the display for themselves, there is a similar alternative readily available. A company called Collector's Cabinets has a line of museum-quality Pokemon TCG card displays in the form of cabinets, cases, and frames for those Pokemon TCG collectors serious about preserving their cards. Neither the museum nor the magnetic displays have publicly displayed prices, so Pokemon fans may have to spend a pretty penny in order to show off their collections.
