A talented Pokemon fan designed and built an incredible Chandelure light fixture for his home. The ghostly Pokemon takes the form of a chandelier and is often found in ruins and near hospitals or graveyards. Pokemon is full of ghosts, and next to Drifloon, Chandelure truly has one of the creepiest backstories.
Chandelure first appeared in Pokemon Black and White and has been featured in every generation since. A fan-favorite for both the design and the stat block, Chandelure specializes in Sp. Atks and has one of the best offensive typings available. Besides being immune to Normal and Fighting-type moves, Ghost/Fire-type's same-type attack bonus (STAB) is super effective against seven other types. The types it's weak to are Ground, Rock, Water, Ghost, and Dark.
Redditor 2501exe shared the video of his new Chandelure chandelier hanging up and swinging in his office. His girlfriend asked him to make one for Christmas, so he got right to work by rendering a CAD model in Keyshot. Then, working off a design from IKEA for the lamp's skeleton, he added Chandelure into the design using Rhino. He dry-fitted black circles and other shapes to the lamp frame to create Chandelure's eyes and mouth. It's a cute but spooky Pokemon all at once, as it has big round eyes but a stitched mouth. The candelabras were done with a mold and contained internal wiring for the structure. The candle holders and "flames" were created with a 3D printer. All in all, the finished product is a near-exact reproduction of the Pokemon and a working LED Chandelier that changes colors.
Most of the jokes in the Reddit comments warned 2501exe that Chandelure would take his soul. Chandelure is a Pokemon that shows up in places where death is common and attempts to "lure" people into getting close to it with its ephemeral light, almost like an angler fish. When it's successfully found and lured a mark, it will literally suck their soul from them and use it as fuel for the ghostly flame that burns within. Chandelure burns away spirits into nothingness, leaving only the body behind.
The soundtrack he chose for the video is a remix of the Lavender Town theme song that has numerous Creepypastas and urban legends attached to it. The atmosphere of 2501exe's office is way more spooky now, but he's got to lean into that when the centerpiece of his room is a Ghost-type Pokemon.
Pokemon Black and White are available to play on the Nintendo DS.
