The 30th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise is in full swing, as The Pokemon Company (TPC) reveals over 1,000 more logos for the occasion. Along with a previously-revealed Pokemon 30th anniversary logo featuring Pikachu, TPC unveiled similar logos featuring each Pokemon that has appeared in the series so far, including regional variants and other specific forms.

On February 27, 1996, Pokemon Red and Green for the Game Boy were released in Japan, which started a phenomenon that eventually made its way to international markets in 1998. Nearly a decade later, Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, the first remakes of the Pokemon franchise, were launched for the Game Boy Advance. With Pokemon celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026, Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen will receive Nintendo Switch ports that are independent of the Nintendo Switch Online service. Despite initial reactions, The Pokemon Company stated it wanted to have some fun with the relaunches of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen on the Switch.

Pokemon GO unveils the first teaser for the game's special upcoming 10th anniversary season, hinting at lots to come with Memories in Motion.

Pokemon Made Over 1,000 Logo Variants for Its 30th Anniversary Campaign

Ahead of the upcoming Pokemon Presents broadcast, The Pokemon Company unveiled more logos on social media via a clever marketing campaign. The Poke Times Twitter feed, managed by Pokemon, asked users to tap an image and post on their feeds. Via machine translation, Poke Times stated that the logos that were posted are based on those displayed in outdoor advertisements throughout five cities in Japan. Users who did so received a special Pokemon 30th anniversary logo that featured one of the franchise's 1,025 Pokemon (as of Gen 9). Although Pikachu's version of the Pokemon 30th anniversary logo has already been unveiled, other popular critters like Eevee, Venusaur, and Charizard received their own variants. Each Pokemon was given a different pose, and the number 30 behind them had different colors and markings. Each variation of the Pokemon 30th anniversary logo was cataloged by Serebii.net via crowdsourcing for users to peruse. As of this writing, the Poke Times Twitter feed was still responding to user replies for a random Pokemon 30th anniversary logo.

Each critter that received a logo also included its own unique variations that appeared over the years, with the regional variants of Meowth featured throughout the Pokemon series as one example. Some Pokemon also received additional logos based on their gender, a unique color pattern, or some battle-specific criteria. The list also included the series' convergent species, like Toedscool and Wiglett. Though each Pokemon was represented, most battle-exclusive Pokemon forms, such as Mega Evolutions and Gigantamax Forms, were excluded from the logo list. However, separate logos that featured Terapagos in its normal and Terastal forms, along with the Origin forms of Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina, were confirmed by Pokemon fans on social media.

Pokemon Day May Yield More Surprises for Fans

Pokemon's 30th anniversary will be observed on February 27 and plenty of rumors and leaks about The Pokemon Company's plans for the occasion have circulated on social media. Pokemon's 10th mainline game generation, titled Pokemon Wind and Wave according to leakers, may appear during the broadcast in some capacity. Along with the launch of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, other confirmed games that may be discussed during the Pokemon Presents include Pokemon Pokopia and Pokemon Champions. Although The Pokemon Company has been tight-lipped about what's to come, the upcoming Pokemon Presents episode will last approximately 25 minutes, making it one of the longest Pokemon presentations to date.

However, Pokemon fans will not have to wait until Pokemon Day to see more of Pokemon Pokopia. A Nintendo Treehouse will air on Tuesday, February 24, and Pokemon Pokopia and the Switch 2 port of Super Mario Bros. Wonder will be featured during the show. All in all, Pokemon fans eager to hear more about the franchise's future are in for a busy week ahead.
