Sony released the PS5 at the end of 2020. As the company’s next-gen console and answer to the Xbox Series X, the design came packed with improved hardware. Some of these upgraded specs included a lightning-fast SSD, along with an improved GPU capable of handling raytracing. In addition to these powerful new features, the company unveiled a new controller design as well.
Known as the PS5 DualSense controller, this gamepad contained a number of new features for gamers to use, such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Boasting a sleek white and black color scheme, the controller became popular with many members of the PlayStation community. Recently, one gamer received a gift based on the design of the next-gen controller.
In a post on Reddit, a user known as most_annoying_dude shared a video of a new plushy they received. In the clip, the gamer revealed that the plushy was in the shape of an oversized DualSense controller. With white and black fabric, the design looked strikingly similar to that of an actual PS5 controller. Some of the highlights of the plushy included moveable thumbsticks, back bumpers, and even D-pad and face buttons corresponding to those found on a DualSense controller. In addition, the gamer squeezed the plushy, confirming that it was indeed very soft.
Besides showing off this new plushy, the gamer gave a bit of backstory about the gift. According to most_annoying_dude, the plushy was designed by their girlfriend. They also revealed that it was a birthday present.
This new plushy PS5 controller has become popular with the PlayStation community on Reddit. With over 3,600 upvotes in only one day, many gamers thought a PS5 plushy was an ingenious gift idea. One fan even suggested that the gamer’s girlfriend should make a plushy of the PS5 next to go with the controller. In addition, many found humor in the design of the controller. One user asked whether it had haptic feedback, while another quipped that it was “good for bigger hands.” Furthermore, some joked that the plushy PS5 controller had terrible stick drift, as the thumbsticks never centered themselves when moved.
It’s exciting to see what types of creations gamers make relating to some of their favorite games, consoles, and accessories. Recently, another fan of PlayStation decided to create custom Spider-Man artwork for their PS5 using markers. As hopefully more PS5 consoles and DualSense controllers become available in the coming days, it will be interesting to see what other pieces of art passionate fans come up with based on the PlayStation brand.
