Monster Hunter World was released in 2018 and finally seemed to accomplish having the franchise embraced by a more mainstream audience. The 2018 game saw sales top over 21 million as of February 2025, likely in part due to the Worlds' highly rated reviews. Right now, you can get the game for just $10.

Monster Hunter Rise arrived for the series next on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It was originally developed for the Nintendo Switch, but was ported to Sony's consoles the following year. It continued the trend of incredible reviews for the Capcom series. The Best War Games gave it a 9/10, and Rise would go on to sell nearly 17 million copies as of the end of 2024.
