PlayStation Stars is available now in North America with new quests, and users who pre-order Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and/or God of War Ragnarok may earn rewards for the loyalty program. According to Sony, PlayStation Stars users subscribed to PlayStation Plus may earn even more rewards through special campaigns.
The PlayStation Stars loyalty program is free to join for all PSN users, and PlayStation Plus members have access to additional reward opportunities. PlayStation Stars users may complete quests, campaigns, and activities to earn rewards and points. Points earned in PlayStation Stars may be used to redeem digital collectibles and PlayStation Store credit. Currently, PlayStation Stars is available to join now in Japan, Asia, North America, and South America. Players in Europe and Australia may join PlayStation Stars starting October 13.
Starting today, PlayStation Plus members will receive PlayStation Stars points for digital Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and God of War Ragnarok pre-orders. Sony sent out a notification through PlayStation Network to inform users that all existing pre-orders for the two upcoming games are eligible for PlayStation Stars points. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and God of War Ragnarok pre-orders made after October 5 are still eligible as well. Users should be able to earn PlayStation Stars points from these pre-orders leading into launch day.
Sony confirms a special PlayStation Stars campaign is coming within a week of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and God of War Ragnarok's respective launches. These limited-time campaigns allow PlayStation Stars users to earn points following the launch of these games. Players planning to purchase both games should be able to amass a wealth of PlayStation Stars points this October and November. Sony did not share exact details about the new campaigns, but the company will likely share more news closer to the games' launch dates.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and God of War Ragnarok pre-order campaigns are a promising sign of PlayStation Stars' future. Users should expect more campaigns for upcoming PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 games going forward. Those already excited about new PlayStation releases are able to earn new PlayStation Stars rewards and PlayStation Store credit by joining the free program.
PS5 will receive a variety of exciting games in 2023, such as Final Fantasy 16, Street Fighter 6, and Resident Evil 4 remake. It will be interesting to see if Sony creates and promotes PlayStation Stars campaigns with the upcoming slate of PS5 games to entice even more users to join the service.
