Sony launched the new era of PlayStation Plus in June 2022, combining the previous version with PS Now. Although the latter subscription service was around for a long time, PS Now struggled to get over its early negative reputation, so a revamp was needed to wipe the slate clean. PS Plus has been way more successful and reliable.
PS Plus is split into three tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium. Essential unlocks PlayStation's online features, along with providing a couple of free monthly games. Along with Essential's offerings, Extra grants access to hundreds of PS5 and PS4 games; meanwhile, Premium extends the lineup to include older consoles. Each month, Sony adds a bunch of new PS Plus games to each tier, including first-party PS5 exclusives, third-party juggernauts, PS VR2 games, and indie darlings. The PlayStation Plus free games lineup for February 2026 is not the most exciting, although it is arguably a bit better than its predecessor. Just to be clear, all four titles are decent (or even great), and they are worth adding to any library. It is just that there isn't anything to get too excited about, which has generally become the case for PS Plus Essential in the last year or so. Undisputed is arguably the main attraction, and it is one of the more successful boxing games of the modern era. It isn't perfect, but check it out if you are into combat sports.

Before proceeding, we should mention that Sony will no longer include PS4-only games each month, with new arrivals being intermittent. While disappointing, that is the decision that has been made.
Once again, the Extra tier is picking up Essential's slack, as Sony is clearly leaving the heavyweights for its full lineup rather than the monthly giveaways. February 2026's PS Plus Extra games lineup is top-notch and covers a fairly wide spectrum of genres. Obviously, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is the headliner, as Insomniac's sequel is one of the biggest PS5 games ever. As both of its predecessors are part of the subscription service, you can now play through the whole series, and I envy anybody who will be experiencing these games for the first time.
Spidey casts a wide shadow, but do not ignore the rest of February 2026's games. With Monster Hunter Stories 3 debuting in March, Capcom has opted to bring the first two games to PS Plus, allowing people who have been on the fence to try them out. They are both long creature-collecting turn-based JRPGs, so they can keep you busy for months.
Personally, Echoes of the End is the inclusion that I am most excited about, as I have been wanting to try it. It got mixed reviews, but I love an ambitious AA game that aims for the stars. It is also perfect for PS Plus Extra. The rest of the lineup is pretty solid and mostly consists of niche titles.

PS Plus Premium includes everything available on Sony's service. Along with Essential and Extra's games and benefits, this tier includes a classic catalog of PS3, PS2, PS1, and PSP games, along with some PS4 remasters. Premium's monthly additions have been inconsistent so far, and it is not unusual for a month to go by with barely any classic additions to the tier.
Although most lineups contain only a handful of classics, PS Plus Premium has been steadily enhancing its old-school library, particularly when it comes to PSP and PS1 releases. The games might not all be bona fide masterpieces, but the selection covers both well-known and obscure properties.
