The PlayStation Plus games for January 2026 are now available to play. This month's lineup comprises eight titles, plus one iconic PS1 game expanding the PS Plus Premium-exclusive Classics catalog.
PS Plus closed out 2025 by adding nine games to its library on December 2. The year-end catalog expansion offered notable genre variety, including everything from Assassin's Creed Mirage and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty to LEGO Horizon Adventures and Cat Quest 3. Sony now aims to maintain that momentum with a comparably diverse and similarly sized wave of January 2026 releases.
PS Plus Adds $290 Worth of Games for January 2026
The first 2026 batch of PS Plus games is now officially live as of January 20. As is usually the case, the monthly additions were treated to a staggered release, debuting at 12pm local time, meaning European users got to play them approximately seven hours ahead of the East Coast. The January 2026 PS Plus lineup numbers nine titles, eight of which are available to both Extra- and Premium-tier subscribers. Headlining the multi-tier offerings are two AAA releases: Resident Evil Village and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Also featured are the minimalist top-down racer Art of Rally, off-road driving sim Expeditions: A MudRunner Game, and the debut title from Canadian indie studio Max Inferno: the cozy 2022 puzzler A Little to the Left, aptly named for its tidy, instruction-based gameplay.

A significant chunk of January 2026 additions to PS Plus fill various horror niches. Apart from Resident Evil Village, Sony's subscription catalog now also includes A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, an interactive tie-in to Scott Beck and Bryan Woods's hit horror franchise. Like the films that inspired it, this video game adaptation from Italian developer Stormind Games emphasizes stealth, challenging players to survive a harrowing post-apocalypse triggered by an alien invasion. The blind insectoid predators behave unpredictably and are generally difficult to evade, making The Road Ahead a consistently tense experience. For added immersion and difficulty, the monsters in A Quiet Place can optionally even respond to sounds picked up through the player’s microphone.
For a more subtle yet still deeply unsettling experience, the January 2026 PS Plus lineup also includes viral horror title The Exit 8. Made by solo Japanese developer Kotake Create, this disorienting game forgoes jump scares in favor of building unease and confusion through an endlessly looping Tokyo subway tunnel that subtly shifts as players attempt to escape. Between its gameplay premise and brief runtime, the game delivers something in the vein of PT-style psychological stress mixed with liminal horror. Originally released as a timed PC exclusive in November 2023, The Exit 8 has been available on PlayStation consoles since August 2024.

Rounding off this month’s additions to the PS Plus horror library is Darkest Dungeon 2. The 2023 roguelite is not a horror game per se, but like its predecessor, it combines a grimdark Gothic setting with Lovecraftian horrors and an immensely oppressive atmosphere into a memorable experience that's firmly in the horror-adjacent territory. Sony’s monthly library update also includes Namco’s original Ridge Racer for the PS1, which joins the Premium-tier-exclusive Classics catalog. As is tradition, the latest arrivals are accompanied by several removals, with four titles leaving PS Plus as part of the January 20 catalog rotation. The departures comprise Monopoly Plus, SD Gundam Battle Alliance, Sayonara Wild Hearts, and Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
