Yet another bundle is now said to be in the works at Sony, with Dealabs' Billbil-kun reporting that the company is planning to start packaging the PS5 with Astro Bot. The new bundle will reportedly be available in both Europe and North America, with the possibility of launching in additional markets, as per the same source. Billbil-kun claims that the pack will contain a "standard" version of the console with the disc drive, seemingly referring to what's officially known as the PS5 Disc Edition. The last PS5 bundle that Sony launched in the West included the newer, Slim variant of the device, which was originally released in November 2023.

PS5 Astro Bot Bundle Reportedly Coming Circa March 2025

The Astro Bot bundle is said to be planned for either a late winter or early spring 2025 release, with Billbil-kun citing March 13 as its possible release date. The same source estimates that the pack will be priced between €474.99 and €499.99 in Europe, which is in the ballpark of the Fortnite Cobalt Star PS5 bundle. The package will reportedly include a download code for the game rather than a physical copy, though it's unclear if it will be for the Standard or Digital Deluxe Editions of Astro Bot.

Sony Could Announce Its Next PS5 Bundle This Week

According to a recent report from long-time leaker Nate the Hate, Sony is planning a State of Play event for mid-February 2025. Therefore, if the Astro Bot bundle is indeed happening and planned to hit the market around March, then the rumored event would be an obvious opportunity for Sony to officially announce it.

Bundling Astro Bot with the PS5 would signal Sony's confidence in the game's system-selling potential. And while such a move would also inevitably help Astro Bot's sales, those are reportedly going well as is. Sony previously announced that the game sold 1.5 million copies as of November 3, three days shy of its two-month anniversary. Since it was developed in about three years by a team of roughly 65 people, Astro Bot has likely long since broken even—especially as a first-party title, which avoids the usual 30% PS Store revenue cut.
