Considering the eight console generation is creeping to its close, the PlayStation 3 feels like a lifetime ago. It is almost difficult to believe that Sony's previous console experienced its peak period during the first couple of years of this decade. While the PlayStation 4 has exceeded its predecessor, both in terms of sales and games, that speaks more to the quality of the former than to the detriment of the latter.

While games like The Last of Us  and Grand Theft Auto V  graced store shelves during this decade, the PS3 also welcomed more than its share of terrible titles. According to Metacritic, these are the worst PS3 games released during the 2010s.

10 Girl Fight (35)

With a title like Girl Fight, a budget-priced digital-only fighting game, expectations have to be adjusted accordingly. Nobody should go in expecting a fighter comparable to Tekken or Mortal Kombat; no, Girl Fight  tailors to a more primal drive and is devoid of any ambition.

Girl Fight's fighting mechanics are not terrible, although they are bland and uninspired. In a market that already has Dead Or Alive, there is really no room for Girl Fight. Honestly, even some entries of Dead Or Alive  are a tad unnecessary.

9 The Expendables 2 Videogame (34)

Licensed games will feature heavily on this list, a fact that should surprise absolutely nobody. While some of the later entries are more baffling, The Expendables 2 Videogame  might just be the most forgettable of the bunch.

A top-down shooter that sells itself on its co-op play, The Expendables 2 does offer some mild entertainment as a run-of-the-mill action romp starring a few recognizable faces. While Terry Crews is always a plus, the game surrounding him does not amount to much.

8 The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct (34)

Following the success of TellTale's The Walking Dead  series, the prospect of experiencing this world in a single-player FPS was enticing. Well, Survival Instinct  squashed any hype immediately. Considering The Walking Dead  was on fire in 2013, Terminal Reality's ugly abomination of a title was a huge missed opportunity to capitalize on the franchise's popularity. Even mediocrity would have done well.

Survival Instinct  recycles the same locations - many of which look terrible - and features lethargic gameplay that turns the apocalypse into a chore.

7 AMY (33)

Over the last decade, survival horror has become a rather oversaturated market. The majority of the subgenre's titles are not worth giving a second glance, but few can even dream of reaching AMY's level of pure awfulness. It takes effort to be this bad.

One long escort mission that throws in a healthy dose of stealth sections, AMY  succeeds only in frustrating players with poor controls, a meandering story, and unclear level design.

6 Kick-Ass: The Game (33)

Did you know that Kick-Ass has a video game adaptation? There is probably a reason this tie-in cash-grab has been erased from the pages of history. A beat-up em with three playable characters and a progression system that unfathomably lacks any unlockable attacks, Kick-Ass: The Game  shows no interest in trying anything remotely interesting or new.

In all fairness, not every title needs to be ground-breaking; however, if treading familiar ground, then the developer better make extra sure that it struts confidently. Along with ending very quickly - which might be a blessing - Kick-Ass can only muster up flaccid combat, personality-less environments, and cheap visuals.

5 Magus (32)

magus ps3

Magus  is an action RPG that is almost worth playing just to witness such a multi-faceted failure. One advantage the PS3 had over its successor was mid-tier AA games, which have grown quite rare in this day and age. However, ambition means nothing if the execution is totally flawed.

With a surprisingly deep - mind you, that does not mean good - equipment and magic system, if nothing else, Magus' combat system does show a desire to create something worthwhile. Unfortunately, potentially interesting mechanics are the only thing Magus  has going for it. The AI is too braindead to make the most of the combat system, the levels cycle through every overused environment in the fantasy RPG playbook, and the less said about the story, the better.

4 DreamWorks Kung Fu Panda 2 (31)

While the first Kung Fu Panda  game was passable, the sequel proved to be a huge step back in nearly every department. As a straightforward third-person action game designed primarily for children, Kung Fu Panda 2  is not tied to lofty expectations; however, a functioning game with a decent frame rate should not be too much to ask.

The visuals do an okay job of aping the film's animation style, even if they are mostly wasted on barren arenas that lack much in the way of variety. The gameplay mechanics are bog-standard and, if the enemies were at all interested in putting up a challenge, might have been somewhat engaging.

3 Dream Chronicles (31)

An adventure game that revolves around solving puzzlesDream Chronicles  is akin to an interactive storybook. In fact, KatGames' title would have been better served as a children's book, as the gameplay is comfortably the worst part of this entire package.

That is not to say the fantastical storyline about a woman who tries to rescue her husband from the Fairy Queen is particularly riveting, but it is charming enough for what it is. The puzzles are too simplistic to be enjoyable, meaning the story is constantly being brought to a halt for nothing. The game is especially unsuitable for the PS3, although Dream Chronicles  works well-enough as a casual adventure title on PC.

2 Smash 'N' Survive (31)

While the current generation has not been kind to the vehicular combat genre, the same cannot be said for the PS3 and Xbox 360 era. 2012's Twisted MetalSplit/SecondFull Auto 2: Battlelines, and Wheelman  were all released during that period. Even if they were not fantastic, they all had a few positives going for them.

Smash 'N' Survive  cannot claim the same. Hideous visuals and a poorly explained storyline that would have been better served being completely removed, Smash 'N' Survive  is not even worth playing for a laugh.

1 Rambo: The Video Game (23)

rambo ps3

Ranked as the lowest-rated PS3 game released during this decade, Rambo: The Video Game  exists on a level all of its own. In fact, 2009's Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust  is the only PS3 game that managed to score a worse score than Teyon's rail shooter.

Movie tie-in games are notorious, but 2014's game adapts movies that - by that point - were more than two decades old. What was there to gain from releasing such a lousy and irrelevant game? Rambo: The Video Game  is baffling.
