In a strange turn of events, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is under fire from gamers online due to its new changes to the female character model. A rather unnecessary addition has been made to the design of female contenders, giving their underwear a heavily-criticized 'camel toe' when not equipping any pants.
This new look only currently features on the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds test servers, meaning that it is not currently active in the base game, but fans everywhere are already outraged at the changes. Thankfully, it doesn't appear as though the female characters' underwear will keep this look for long as the uproar has already prompted PlayerUnknown himself to comment on the controversy.
Earlier today, Brendan Green (AKA PlayerUnknown) posted to Twitter to apologize for the model's changes and explain how they came about. According to the PUBG creator, the character model was received from an outsourced design artist and was overlooked by the development team. Thankfully, the female characters will be returning to their original look on the test servers very shortly.
In other PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds news, all players recently gained access to the new Miramar desert map that was shown off in a new trailer released at The Game Awards 2017. Fan reports indicate that the upcoming area is an enjoyable change to the classic Russian landscape, with alterations to the core gameplay leading to a fun and varied experience in general.
With PUBG set to launch on console for the first time tomorrow, Microsoft are celebrating the current Xbox One exclusivity by dropping real life loot boxes in major cities across Australia. The exciting supply crates will come packaged with a range of goodies, ranging from Xbox game codes to even Elite controllers and Xbox One consoles. Although the actual loot boxes are limited to residents of Australia, there's no doubt that the PR stunt could come to other parts of the world, should it prove to be a success.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is in early access on PC, with a full release due later this month. It will arrive for early access on Xbox One this December 12, 2017.
