August 12 is Going to Be a Big Day for Phasmophobia Fans

Phasmophobia fans can circle August 12 on their calendars, as this date marks the arrival of an exciting in-game addition. Phasmophobia is a paranormal horror game that first entered early access on PC in September 2020, before arriving on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles in October 2024. The game involves one to four players who must complete a contract by identifying which type of ghost is haunting a particular location.

Phasmphobia recently released a new patch for July 2025, which brought new recordable video evidence to the game after the Chronicle update. Three new pieces of video evidence were included in gameplay, with added audio and video cues to indicate the completion of recording sounds and adjusted media deletions to adhere to the difficulty. Additionally, changes to Journal keybinds and the range for recording sounds were also implemented.

Phasmophobia Welcomes Grafton Farmhouse Rework on August 12

Phasmophobia has become one of the most surprisingly popular Twitch games, alongside the likes of Dune: Awakening, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Among Us, and August 12 will debut the much-anticipated arrival of the Grafton Farmhouse rework. There are several details to note being implemented within the rework, including “faulty electrics, caved-in ceilings and layers of dust,” and players can look forward to exploring new themed rooms in the derelict home, such as a creepy attic and the chilling seamstress room. The player base can expect the changes to Grafton Farmhouse to reflect similar alterations that were applied to Bleasedale Farmhouse and Point Hope lighthouse.

Additionally, 2025 will also see the addition of the Nell’s Diner map in Phasmophobia, which is said to showcase a retro-styled restaurant on its last legs. However, no release date has been given for its arrival. The game’s 14th map is described as being rather small in scale, similar to the size of the various houses on offer. The Nell’s Diner map being smaller in scale is a good thing, since Phasmophobia players previously shared their dislike for larger maps, including Brownstone High School or the Sunny Meadows Mental Institution.

Looking to the game’s future, fans can look forward to Phasmophobia’s significant Horror 2.0 update, which is expected to be released sometime in 2026. The update promises to feel like an entirely different game, teased by creator Daniel Knight, as the title will be notably reworked with major changes in the pipeline. Furthermore, one of the update’s main takeaways will involve a massive change to the game’s audio, although specifics have been kept under wraps for now.
