From October 28th till November 13th, players can take part in a Halloween Event for Phasmophobia. During the Blood Moon Event, players will notice that the lobby warehouse has received a terrifying makeover and that there is a new Event Board telling them exactly what the event entails.
Phasmophobia: How to Identify All Ghosts
Each ghost in Phasmophobia comes with special abilities that can help you identify them. Here's what you need to look out for on any difficulty.
The Blood Moon Event for Phasmophobia is a community-wide event that relies on players from all over the world, including PC veterans and newcomers on consoles. No one player can complete the event by themselves, but everyone can make contributions and hopefully unlock the rewards alongside the rest of the community. With new spooky aesthetics and more challenging ghosts, there's no better time to jump back into the number one ghost-hunting game.
How To Complete The Phasmophobia Bloon Moon Event
To participate in the Phasmophobia Blood Moon Event, players will need to complete the following three objectives as many times as they can, while playing on a Blood Moon map:
- Identify ghosts correctly: Make sure to check all the evidence and don't get baited by a Mimic when finding Ghost Orbs.
- Complete optional objectives: These can be seen at the start of a game on the board inside the van.
- Photograph any Totems you find: At least one red Totem will spawn on each Blood Moon map, so always have a camera ready.
You will know if a Totem has been successfully photographed if it then vanishes. Nor do players have to worry about deleting photos.
Players will get points for each of these that will contribute to the community score. Players can check out the Event Board in the warehouse to see the community's current progress. Once Stage 1 reaches 100%, a reward will be unlocked and everyone can start contributing to the second Stage.
How To Get Freezing Temps in Phasmophobia
Freezing temps can be tricky to get in Phasmophobia, so here's how to tell if you've got the evidence you need with each thermometer tier.
The number of Blood Moon points earned can be seen at the end of the game as part of the game summary.
Beware That The Blood Moon Makes The Game Harder
Before players get the idea that these objectives sound too easy, they should be warned that the Blood Moon makes the game harder. First of all, on the relevant maps, players might have a harder time finding their way around with all the new decorations.
More importantly, however, they will notice that the ghosts are more active, more aggressive, and overall more powerful. Approach with caution, and always have a hiding spot at the ready.
Thankfully, these objectives can be completed on any difficulty.
Due to the increased difficulty, players will gain 10% increased rewards at the end of each game.
Maps That Contribute To The Phasmophobia Blood Moon Event
To participate in Phasmophobia's 2024 Halloween event, players will need to play on the following maps. Thankfully, they are easy to identify as they all have large red markers on the contract board:
- 42 Edgefield Road: A medium-sized modern house with two floors and a basement.
- 13 Willow Street: A small modern house with just a basement.
- Point Hope: A lighthouse map made up of many floors.
- Grafton Farmhouse: A creepy old farmhouse, not for the lighthearted.
Players will know that they have chosen an event map when they exit the van and see a red sky and interiors heavily decorated with red candles and the like.
Rewards For The Phasmophobia Blood Moon Event
An event would not be fitting without rewards, and as stated previously, these will be unlocked at the same time by the community:
- Stage 1: Blood Moon ID Card.
- Stage 2: Upgraded ID Card.
- Stage 3: Blood Moon Trophy & permanently unlocked Blood Moon weather.
Naturally, the most exciting rewards will be unlocked after the community completes the third and final stage. If unlocked, the Trophy will be displayed in a cabinet at the warehouse, alongside other Phasmophobia collectibles such as cursed objects and human bones.
The permanently unlocked Blood Moon weather will likely be an additional option for those wishing to shake up gameplay, as it makes the ghosts more powerful while providing a frightening ambiance.
Phasmophobia: How to Use the DOTS Projector
Players that are wondering how the DOTS Projector in Phasmophobia works can find details on this new piece of technology here.
How To Claim Blood Moon Rewards
On top of completing objectives, players will want to check back regularly during the event, as after the community completes each stage, everyone will be able to unlock a new reward.
To claim their Blood Moon rewards, players will need to head over to the Blood Alter in the lobby warehouse and interact with it. It's hard to miss!
