Famous YouTube content creator Felix "PewDiePie" Kjellberg has taken a major step in his life, as he and his wife Marzia announced the birth of their son on social media.
Known for his comedic, reactionary style, PewDiePie remains one of the most popular YouTubers of all time. The Swedish YouTube sensation had a staggering 111 million subscribers at the time of writing. However, he was passed up in the subscriber count by T-Series and the children's show Cocomelon, which have 245 million and 162 million subscribers, respectively. This prompted famed content creator MrBeast to "avenge" PewDiePie by vowing to overtake T-Series in subscriber count one day. While PewDiePie will not stop being a content creator, his new duties as a father will take precedence as he and his family adjust to their new lives.
Marzia Kjellberg revealed some pictures of the new family of three on her Instagram page. One of the shots included a picture of PewDiePie holding the newborn in his arms. Their son, named Björn, was born on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, and the announcement arrived a day later. One of the shots showed a brown onesie with Björn's name stitched on the front, which was placed in a crib surrounded by some stuffed toys. Back in February, PewDiePie and Marzia revealed that they were expecting their first child. At the time, PewDiePie and Marzia stated they first found in November, which would have made Marzia roughly three months along into the pregnancy. During the reveal, the couple shared the emotional reactions of their loved ones when they told them the good news.
PewDiePie and Marzia have been together for over a decade. Last year, the couple successfully moved to Japan alongside their dogs after several months of planning. Last fall, the popularity of the Kjellberg family prompted the Governor of Gunma Prefecture to use them to promote tourism throughout Central Japan. Suffice it to say, the new family will remain in Japan for the foreseeable future. Fans of both PewDiePie and Marzia congratulated the new parents on the birth of Björn.
While PewDiePie will remain on his YouTube hiatus for the time being, both he and the family remain in good spirits and good health. It remains to be seen when the Swedish YouTuber will return to content creation.
