Persona 5: The Phantom X has revealed two new playable units for Version 1.1, confirming their attributes and roles. The next update for Persona 5: The Phantom X is scheduled for July 10 and is expected to bring new story content, events, and more.

Soon after its Western release in late June 2025, Persona 5: The Phantom X became a huge success on Steam and surpassed its predecessor Persona 5 Royal's peak player count. The game also reached over 1.5 million downloads and enjoyed instant popularity on mobile devices, taking the #1 spot in download rankings on the App Store. Now, the game is getting ready to launch its first major update with Version 1.1, and the developers recently unveiled two new playable characters coming to the roster.

Persona 5: The Phantom X has confirmed the debut of 5-Star units Bui and Marian for Version 1.1. Bui's real name is Yui, a girl who can already become a Confidant in Persona 5: The Phantom X and form a Synergy Bond with players. However, the next update will introduce her as Bui, an Assassin-type Phantom Idol with a Thunder Attribute. Bui's Persona is called Apseudes. Meanwhile, Marian's real name is Minami Miyashita, another girl whom players met during the "Steel Your Heart" side quest in Version 1.0. Marian's Persona is named Thalia, and she is a Medic Phantom Idol with a Blessing Attribute. Unlike Yui, fans cannot currently unlock a Synergy Bond with Minami.

For her combat role in Persona 5: The Phantom X, Bui's Assassin kit should focus on dealing heavy damage to single targets. Marian, on the other hand, is a Medic character, which means she will serve as a healer in teams. Both characters will be featured in Version 1.1's limited banners, which will kick off on July 10 and do not have an end date yet. Bui and Marian's banners will overlap for a few days with Joker's current one, as it is scheduled to end on July 23.

Persona 5: The Phantom X Version 1.1 will release new main story content up until the end of Chapter 2, along with two new side missions. Players will also be able to unlock a Synergy Bond with Shun Kano for the first time. After the update goes live, players can log into Persona 5: The Phantom X for seven days until July 24 to get seven free pulls on the Weapon banner. A new game mode called Metro of Desires is also launching, which will feature tougher battle challenges and level progression.
