Summary

  • The rumored Switch 2 port of Persona 3 Reload will reportedly include all the entirety of the game's Expansion Pass.
  • The existing versions of the game sell the Expansion Pass as a $35 add-on.
  • Other than Persona 3 Reload, Atlus is also rumored to be working on the Switch 2 versions of Metaphor: ReFantazio and Persona 6.

The rumored Switch 2 port of Persona 3 Reload will come bundled with the entirety of the game's Expansion Pass content, a well-known leaker has claimed. This would give it a major advantage over the existing versions of Persona 3 Reload, which are priced at $70 and sell the Expansion Pass as a $35 add-on.

The fact that the remake of Atlus's iconic RPG doesn't include The Answer, the epilogue chapter from Persona 3 FES, but sells it separately has already generated some vocal criticism from the fandom. The backlash even resulted in the Persona 3 Reload Expansion Pass getting review-bombed. Atlus, for its part, said that it didn't omit The Answer from the day-one version of the game, but that it's still in the process of developing it, hence its decision to offer it as a separate purchase with plans to release it in September 2024.

Persona 3 Reload Switch 2 Port Rumored to Be (Almost) Content-Complete

At the same time, the rumored Switch 2 port of the RPG will allegedly be almost content-complete. That's according to prominent Sega leaker Midori, who has recently taken to Twitter to assert that owners of Nintendo's next console will get the entirety of the Expansion Pass out of the box. The wording of their claim suggests that the day-one DLC for Persona 3 Reload might still not be part of the package and could instead be sold separately.

Even so, The Answer is by far the biggest DLC addition to the game, to the point that some vocal fans have previously argued they'd like to be able to purchase it separately because they aren't interested in the bonus music and costumes comprising the rest of the Expansion Pass. Bundling those $35 worth of add-ons with the base game would make its Switch 2 port the best of the bunch in terms of pure value.

While Midori's track record with Atlus-related leaks is near-impeccable, it's likely going to be a while before this particular claim can be verified. That's largely because Nintendo's next console is believed to still be at least a full year away from hitting the market, and it's unclear when exactly it's even planned to be officially announced. Until that happens, the alleged Switch 2 port of Persona 3 Reload, which Midori has been insisting is happening since January 2024, will remain just a rumor.

Atlus's Rumored Nintendo Switch 2 Games

  • Metaphor: ReFantazio
  • Persona 3 Reload
  • Persona 6

Other than the Persona 3 remake, the insider previously said that Atlus is working on at least two more Switch 2 titles, including its upcoming fantasy RPG Metaphor: ReFantazio. Persona 6 is also expected to debut on the Switch 2, with Midori claiming that the much-anticipated game is planned to hit the market either in 2025 or 2026.
