A recent update made to the Steam page of Atlus' upcoming Persona 3 Reload confirms that the JRPG remake will be Steam Deck verified. This remake is becoming one of Atlus' most anticipated releases for 2024, bringing the game to modern standards and current platforms, and making Persona 3 Reload closer to Persona 5 in many ways. The game also is launching on multiple platforms, including PC via Steam, much like the last few ports of the last three mainline Persona titles.

Atlus released PC versions of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 5 Royal in 2022, joining the Persona 4 Golden port that dropped on Steam in 2020. These three Persona games are Steam Deck verified, meaning PC gamers can play these popular JRPGs on the go, in the same vein as Nintendo's Switch system. Owners of the Steam Deck can now add Atlus' upcoming Persona 3 Reload to the list of compatible titles, according to a recent update and the game's official store page.

This update was first spotted by Pan-hime on Twitter, where she posted a recent change that was made to the game's Steam page on SteamDB. This website is a database for Valve's platform that tracks changes made to a game's page, along with various statistics. The latest changelog added that Persona 3 Reload is now Steam Deck verified, which is further confirmed on the game's official page, listing how it can be played using the system.

A Steam Deck-verified game means that the game's default options won't need to be adjusted in order to play on Valve's hybrid system. For example, the legibility of the game's interface text and graphical elements is enough that it can be viewed using the Steam Deck's smaller screen. Considering Persona 5 Royal was a popular game to play on the Steam Deck already, Persona 3 Reload being playable on the portable system may also be to its benefit.

Pan-hime notes that Atlus' upcoming tactical Persona 5 spin-off, Persona 5 Tactica, hasn't added a Steam Deck compatibility tag before its release this November yet. Except for the Nintendo Switch, Persona 5 Tactica will be released on all the same major platforms as Reload. Persona 5 Tactica having a Switch version but not being Steam Deck verified may be a bit surprising, but fans should wait until an update is provided to see if the tactical RPG will be joining Persona 3 Reload in the library of verified games.

Persona 3 Reload launches on February 2, 2024, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
