Persona 3 is a critically acclaimed and adored entry in the Persona series, but for many players the game is inaccessible as it has not aged well. A lot of the mechanics encountered in the original game would make it difficult for players that are accustomed to modern quality of life features to stick around to the end.

This problem has been solved with Persona 3 Reload, a complete remake of the original game that borrows a great deal of style from Persona 5. If you purchased Persona 3 Reload, you will soon be able to enjoy a modernized version of Persona 3. But what is the actual release time?

What Time Does Persona 3 Reload Release?

Before discussing the release time, it is important to mention that at the time of writing Atlus has not officially confirmed the release time. That said, several platforms have provided countdowns with information on when you can expect to gain access to Persona 3 Reload.

Both on PlayStation and on Steam, you will be able to play Persona 3 Reload at midnight Eastern Time (ET) on February 2. If you live in an area that uses Pacific Time (PT), Persona 3 Reload unlocks at 9 PM on February 1. Many games become available once it is midnight in your region, but unfortunately, that is not the case for Persona 3 Reload as it appears to be unlocking only at midnight Eastern Time. For example, if you live in the GMT time zone, you will not be able to play Persona 3 Reload until 5 AM on February 2.

Players in Japan will not have access to the game until 2 PM JST. If you purchased the Digital Deluxe or Digital Premium Edition of the game, you will gain access to the artbook, soundtrack, and DLC when the game unlocks.

While Persona 3 Reload has a strict release time on PlayStation and Steam, that doesn't appear to be the case for Game Pass. On Game Pass, Persona 3 Reload becomes available the moment the clock strikes midnight in your region. Because of this, some players have already started playing Persona 3 Reload ahead of release on other platforms.

Does the New Zealand Trick Work?

Whenever there is a new, highly anticipated game coming out, one of the first questions that comes to mind is if the infamous New Zealand trick will work. The good news is that some players have managed to get the New Zealand trick to work for Persona 3 Reload.

For those unfamiliar with it, the New Zealand trick is where you change your device's (Xbox and Windows only, this doesn't work on PlayStation) to New Zealand. New Zealand is in a time zone that is significantly ahead of Eastern Time by 18 hours. By doing this, it allows you to unlock the game early and play it even though you are not actually in New Zealand.
