In later Persona games, your party members are some of the earliest and most important Social Links or Confidants you can advance. This wasn't the case in Persona 3, and it still isn't the case in Persona 3 Reload.
For instance, while Yukari is one of the first party members you get, her Lovers Social Link is one of the last links you can start in Persona 3 Reload. On top of that, you'll need to max out one of your social stats to even have a chance with her. But despite all these hurdles, the Lovers Social Link can give you access to a valuable Persona and one of the game's more interesting romance options.

General Information
In Tarot, the Lovers Arcana represents romance, beauty, and strong emotions. This fits well with Yukari since she's the school idol of Gekkoukan and tends to speak before she thinks.
Yukari's Availability
Yukari's available days are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. She stands at the back of the 2-F classroom when you can spend time with her, but you can't advance her Social Link on days off. Like other classmates, Yukari will sometimes invite the protagonist out during a day off, but the nature of the outing depends on which rank you're on. You get one dialog choice during this outing, and while two options will give you three relationship points, one option will give you nothing.
Giving Gifts To Yukari
As a potential love interest, you can give Yukari a gift during a day-off outing. However, the game will only suggest that you give a gift if you aren't ready to rank up. Gifts can give you two or three points depending on how hard they are to get: the Jack Frost Doll and Rose Bouquet are worth two points, while the Brand Wallet, Brand Watch, and Brand Purse are all worth three.
One other way to get relationship points is to spend time on the rooftop garden with Yukari. However, this method only works after you've started her Social Link.
Unlike Persona 4 and 5, advancing Yukari's Social Link won't give her any new abilities or evolve her Persona. There are ways in the game to spend time with Yukari to increase her combat effectiveness, but these interactions have nothing to do with her Social Link.

To start the Lovers Social Link in Persona 3 Reload, you need two things: first, you must wait until the fall term begins in September. Second, you must have reached Charm 6 (Charismatic). If you maxed your Charm stat before September, you'll be able to start this Social Link before the September full moon.

Your choices don't change how this situation plays out, but if you pick the last option, Yukari will get so offended that the Lovers Social Link will Reverse. To fix this situation, you must talk to Yukari on a Social Link day and apologize. Do this on three separate days and she'll forgive you, allowing you to continue the Social Link the next time you see her. Alternatively, you can use the Rewind function in the System menu to retry the event.

Completing the Lovers Social Link gives you Yukari's Strap, a key item that lets you fuse the Persona Cybele. You can carry this item into New Game Plus to maintain access to the best Lovers Persona.
