How to Beat the Pagoda of Disaster and Tome of Persecution in Persona 3 Reload
The Pagoda of Diaster and the Tome of Persecution are found together on floor 151 of Tartarus. This fight consists of one main enemy – the Pagoda – and two smaller enemies – the Tomes. This setup should be familiar to most players by now, as this has occurred several times in previous boss fights. Generally speaking, the two smaller enemies will use their turns to buff the larger enemy. The goal here is to constantly disrupt the chain of events, never allowing the enemies to reach their goal. Consider using the following tactics:
- A good party makeup for this fight is the protagonist, Akihiko, Koromaru, and a fourth member of your preference. There are several options, but Ken Amada can be a good choice, with his ability to use Dekaja to nullify all enemy stat buffs. Aigis and Junpei can also be good choices, with their Personas both having access to Strike attacks, as long as they were not traded out for other skills previously.
- Focus on taking out the Tomes of Persecution first, as the Pagoda is much easier to defeat on its own.
- Players should be able to trap both enemies in the Down status virtually every round. Akihiko should have Masukukaja by this time, use this or Sukukaja to raise the party's (or his) Accuracy/Evasion. This will help ensure that the party/he does not miss the target, and will Down the Pagoda and the Tomes every round.
- Fights like these are a good time to use special items that allow for attacks that wouldn't otherwise be available. If the player has a stockpile of Eiga gems, or similar items that allow for Dark attacks, consider letting those without Dark spells use them to take out the Tomes quickly.
- Ultimately, as long as the group can get at least one All-Out Attack each round, the fight should not last too long. Be sure to avoid all Electricity and Wind attacks on the Pagoda, and all Ice attacks on the Tomes. These attacks are subject to the Drain ability, and will simply refill their health.
