How (& When) Every Persona Evolves In Persona 3 Reload

In Persona 1 and 2, every party member could swap their Personas in the Velvet Room. In Persona 4 and 5, you evolve your party members' Personas by completing their Social Link or Confidant stories. If Persona 3 Reload is your first time playing the third game in the series, you may be wondering how and when these Persona evolutions take place. After all, you can't start a Social Link with any of the male members of SEES.

The answer is that Persona evolutions in Persona 3 Reload happen on specific dates after major story events take place. You can't get an evolved Persona before then, but you also don't have to put in any effort to evolve them.

Persona Evolution Dates In Persona 3 Reload

Not every SEES member goes through a Persona evolution, but most do. Shinjiro doesn't get one because he leaves the team in October for story reasons, and Koromaru joins SEES after his Persona evolves. This is why he's the only team member who starts out with two Theurgy abilities instead of one. As for the rest:

What Does an Evolution Do In Persona 3 Reload?

When a party member's Persona evolves, they get two benefits. First, they get a new Theurgy ability they can choose whenever their Theurgy gauge fills up. These abilities are often more powerful than their starting abilities, or they provide the party with a powerful boost.

The other benefit is a change in their elemental affinities. While none of the party members lose their weaknesses, their Strong element changes to Null. This means they take no damage from their preferred element, instead of taking half. Here's the full list:

Fuuka is an exception to this list since she never fights enemies directly, and Koromaru starts out with a Weakness to Light but is able to Null Fire and Dark.
