Summary
- Personas are crucial in Persona 3 Reload for defeating shadows, and players should have a variety of Personas to target enemy weaknesses.
- Players can collect new Personas after battles and should prioritize certain ones in the Thebel Block of Tartarus.
- Some early-game Personas like Pixie and Angel may have limited usefulness due to duplicate skills or lack of elemental abilities, while others like Asparas and Forneus offer valuable elemental damage options.
Personas are one of the most important factors to consider while playing Persona 3 Reload, as they are needed to face the threat of the shadows, and players need to ensure they have a good spread of Personas to strike the enemies' weak point, or they might find themselves in an unwinnable fight.
Persona 3 Reload: Best Early-Game Armor For The First Four Party Members, Ranked
In Persona 3 Reload, the SEES's characters need protection if they want to survive Tartarus. Along with weapons, they need the best early-game armor.
Alongside fusing collected Personas in the Velvet Room, players can also collect new Personas after successful fights that display a card with a Persona displayed on them. There are quite a few Personas players can capture in the Thebel Block of Tartarus, and players should certainly prioritize certain ones above others.
6 Pixie
Lovers Arcana
- Dia - Restores a small amount of HP to one party member.
- Pulinpa - Chance to inflict Panic on one foe.
Pixie is one of the six Personas players can recruit during their exploration of the Thebel Block. She belongs to the Lovers Arcana, which is unlikely for players to unlock so early on, as they will need maximum charm to begin the corresponding Social Link. As such, players won't get any additional bonus for fusing Lover Personas.
Pixie arrives with two skills, Dia and Pulinpa, both of which don't deal direct damage to foes. While these skills sound like they could be useful, Yukari already comes with these skills, so it is more beneficial for players to focus on areas Junpei and Yukari don't cover to ensure an even spread of buffing, damage, and utility.
5 Angel
Justice Arcana
- Garu - Light Wind damage to one foe.
- Sukukaja - Increases one ally's accuracy and evasion for three turns.
Angel is one of the Personas players will encounter fairly early during their exploration, with her main strength being that she isn't weak to any of the elemental damages that enemies will dole out in the early game. However, that is where most of Angel's usefulness lies.
Persona 3 Reload: Best Early-Game Weapons For The First Four Party Members, Ranked
Persona 3 Reload's first four playable characters can pick from an assortment of early-game weapons, with these options being the best.
She comes with Garu, which SEES member Yukari already has, and Sukukaja, a buffing ability to help accuracy and evasion, but with combat being so easy in the early game, such strong buffs are a little unnecessary and a waste of precious SP. Though some of her later skills may come in clutch, Angel is a little weaker compared to other Personas that can be acquired.
4 Asparas
Priestess Arcana
- Bufu - Light Ice damage to one foe.
Asparas is one of the first Personas players are likely to acquire through Shuffle Time and may be one of the ones most worth keeping through the Thebel Block. Between the other two members of SEES players will explore with, Yukari handles wind damage, while Junpei can deal with fire, which leaves one of the major elements out: ice.
Mitsuru has some ice capabilities, but she won't join the fight until much later in the game, leaving it up to the player to fill this niche. As Asparas arrives with this element ready to go, it makes her a worthwhile choice, as the player will encounter enemies only weak to ice. But since this is her only innate skill, there are better Personas with ice skills out there.
3 Ari Mitama
Chariot Arcana
- Bash - Light Strike damage to one foe.
- Rukukaja - Increase 1 ally's DEF.
- Provoke - Enrages 1 foe.
In later segments of Thebel, players will likely encounter the Persona Ari Mitama, which revolves mostly around utility and physical abilities that use the player's HP rather than SP. It arrives with 3 innate skills, which means players are getting more bang for their buck, but these skills aren't as useful as elemental ones, as those are what make up the weaknesses of most shadows.
7 Things Persona 3 Reload Does Better Than Persona 5
Persona 5 and Persona 3 Reload are both fantastic JRPGs, and P3R does a few things better than the former.
However, as it is level 6, it is stronger than some of the other Personas, and the Rakukaja skill could help soak damage during the mini-boss fights players will need to overcome to explore more of the block. And if nothing else, Ari Mitama could be a good option for fusing into a better, stronger Persona.
2 Silky
Lovers Arcana
- Bewilder - Distresses 1 foe.
- Bufu - Light Ice damage to 1 foe.
Silky is another Persona players can acquire to fill in the missing nook of ice damage in the party. It's also at a higher level than Asparas. What's more, players will gain Bewilder, which they can use to try and distress a foe and throw them off their game.
In later levels, she can Sharp Student, which can help the player avoid sustaining critical damage and quickly turn the tides of a battle. This makes Silky a Persona players will want to keep on them for the early hours of the game.
1 Forneus
Emperor Arcana
- Bufu - Light Ice damage to 1 foe.
- Bash - Light Strike damage to 1 foe.
- Tarukaja - Increase 1 ally's ATK.
Forneus takes the crown as the most useful Persona players can acquire in the Thebel Block. It's found on the later floors and comes with 3 innate skills: bufu for that all-important ice damage, bash to deal some physical damage, and tarukaja to increase attack.
As this Personas has an even spread of elemental, physical, and utility skills, it is a good all-around Persona to catch and is definitely the best players can acquire in the starting block of Tartarus.
