The climb up the mysterious tower known as Tartarus is no picnic in Persona 3 Reload. Not only is it infested with Shadows, but many floors are guarded by powerful foes who will not let you pass unless you can defeat them. But just like any regular Shadow you encounter during the Dark Hour, these fearsome foes still have weaknesses that can be exploited.

The further up you go into Tartarus, the more powerful the Shadows will be. One particularly strong Shadow that you will encounter is known as Raging Turret, and here is how you can overcome it.

Persona 3 Reload Review

Persona 3 Reload evolves the series formula in a way that sets it apart from the original, establishing a precedent that future entries must follow.

How to Beat Raging Turret

Raging Turret is encountered on Floor 126. It is encountered immediately after beating the Shadow on Floor 125, so make sure your party is fully healed up and ready to go. Raging Turret will unleash physical attacks that do large amounts of physical damage. This powerful Shadow will also periodically boost its Attack, Defense, Accuracy, and Evasion.

When these buffs expire, Raging Turret will spend its next turn re-buffing itself. If you have Akihiko in the party, you can have him cast Tarunda to decrease Raging Turret's Attack. Having Mitsuru use Rakunda to bring down its Defense is also a good idea.

As far as attacks go, Raging Turret will switch between single target attacks with Vile Assault and Heat Wave which hits the entire party. Make sure to have someone in your party casting Media or stronger to keep everyone alive as these attacks hurt. In a pinch, the protagonist's Theurgy can also help get the party back into the fight.

When scanned, the following information is revealed about Raging Turret:

  • It is weak to wind damage.
  • It is immune to slash damage

Other than that, Raging Turret is neither weak nor immune to any other kind of damage. So ideally, you will want the protagonist or Yukari in your party (or both to repeatedly stun the boss and unleash a chain of All Out Attacks on it. Yukari's Theurgy can deal massive amounts of damage to Raging Turret as well.

If you don't happen to have any Personas that use abilities that do wind damage, items like Magaru Gem and Gale Magatama can be used to do small amounts of wind damage. While this won't do all that much damage to it, this strategy will stun Raging Turret so that you can then follow up with an All Out Attack. Stay on the offensive, but make sure to keep an eye on your party's health. If you can keep hitting Raging Turret with wind damage and All Out Attacks, it will be destroyed in no time, and you'll be able to continue exploring Tartarus.
