Persona 3 Reload: Can You Save Shinjiro?

Shinjiro is an important character in Persona 3 Reload, having joined the team on September 2nd. Although he is new to the main character, Shinjiro had originally been one of the founding members of the S.E.E.S group alongside Akihiko and Mitsuru. However, he shortly leaves and distances himself from the two leaders.

After he rejoins the team, you only have a short period of time to spend with him to get to know him and expand your relationship through hangouts. Though his fate takes a sudden turn on October 4th during a fight, is there a possibility to save him from this ending?

Can You Save Shinjiro in Persona 3 Reload?

On the fateful night of October 4th, Ken confronts Shinjiro about the death of his mother, which was originally determined to be a car accident. However, in a cutscene with the S.E.E.S members back at the dorms, Mitsuru tells the story of how Shinjiro accidentally killed Ken's mother after losing control of his Persona. Since Shinjiro had just recently awakened his Persona, he wasn't able to stop the tragedy from occurring.

After Fuuka successfully locates Ken and Shinjiro, they discover that Strega is with them as well. After Strega confronts the two, he attempts to take out both Shinjiro and Ken, but Shinjiro protects Ken and gets shot twice by Strega. Eventually, the S.E.E.S group shows up, but it seems it's too late for Shinjiro.

While there's a chance to save Shinjiro in Persona 3 Portable, there is nothing that can be done in Persona 3 Reload to save him from this, unlike Chidori whose fate can be changed. Although he is only with the team for around a month, his fate is set in stone in this game and there's no way to change that. However, it is still worth checking out his social episodes in the game to get to know him better.

How to Complete Shinjiro's Episodes in Persona 3 Reload

Once Shinjiro joins the team, you'll have the chance to hang out with him a few times. Make sure whenever he texts you, that you choose to hang out with him that day. Along with this, you will want to encourage Mitsuru to talk to Shinjiro about returning to school. Then, she'll give you a re-enrollment form that you'll pass along to Shinjiro.

After this, make sure you spend some time with both of them. Eventually, Shinjiro will provide you with an Extension Form and ask you to give it to Mitsuru. However, Mitsuru will text you on September 17 to ask how things are going with Shinjiro, and at the end of the conversation, you'll want to choose 'Wait a minute'. This will allow you to hold onto the form.

Then, visit Shinjiro on the same day in the Station Outskirts. Give him back the form, which will unlock the ability for you to fuse Hell Biker starting on October 28, after you clean out his room.
